Hi, I'm pretty scared cause I have a dentist appt tomorrow and will be getting needles to freeze my gum. The appointment is at 4:15 tomorrrow and I havent smoked meth since about 4:00 pm today. Do you think that the needle will have a bad interaction with the meth and harm me? I have to pay $120 for nothing if I cancel the appt so I'd rather not. Thanks.

I don't quite understand. Why would the needle harm you if you're on methamphetamine?

I'm not sure what exactly what about the dentist appointment is concerning you either but neither the needle or the meds they use should interact with the meth. Please come back and explain what has you worried..<3

not something you need to worry about, OP

When I was using, and I saw my dentist, he called me out within 30 minutes. They know meth mouth. He didn't say, "you're using meth", but he said he could see I've been doing things that will harm my smile, or something like that.

Sounds like someone needs to go to sleep or they win a free visit from the shadow people.

The shadow people... yes they tend to come visit me around the end of day 3 without sleep. Very shy fellows I must say. They remind me of when I get a speck in my eye and try to look directly at it but it moves out of view. The shadow people are similar in that you see them from the corner of your eye, but they run off when you try to look directly at them. Of course, a few more days without sleep and you go from shadow people to real people who are not really there but are willing to have a conversation with you despite that small detail.

Personally when the shadow people begin visiting me semi-regularly I take that as my sign to pop some downers and catch up on my sleep despite the fact that they can be entertaining and elusive.

To the OP, as most everyone else has pointed to, your dentist's anesthetics will not be affected by the presence of methamphetamine in your system. It would certainly be much more wise to go to the dentist while not on a drug that can cause irrational fear and anxiety, though if you must you can almost always get your dentist to give you an extra shot or two in your gums even if it's just to alleviate your fears.

Hi Simba,

I'm sorry you're getting such thoughtless reactions from some people. Fear is fear, people. Yes, meth can certainly make you paranoid and irrational. But that is exactly when mocking and laughing are NOT needed, and calmness, patience, and compassion is.

Simba, can you elaborate on your fears? Are you worried about meth and the numbing agent they inject interacting? Are you afraid the needle will cause injury in your mouth?

Please take good care of yourself. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water, get a good, hearty, nutritious meal in your belly, and get some sleep hon.

It's ok.

Peace.

Edit: Oh gosh...sorry. Didn't realize how old this post was. My bad. Simba, I hope things are much better for you by now.
