When I smoke pot, I seem to get on this ego trip, where I feel like I'm better than everyone else and I get really flirtatious. I talked to my fiance about this happening, and he told me it was probably just because I grew up seeing pot as those above the influence commercials portray it. He encouraged me to go into it with a different view on it(even though I didn't necessarily think badly of it at all). So I kept trying, but getting the same result. I decided it was better if I just stayed away from it, because a high really wasn't worth the ego trip. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this type of effect, and if so is there a way to not experience this? I sometimes wish I could smoke with my fiance because he really wishes he could share the experience with me. Also-I noticed it happens the worst after smoking days in a row, or days close together at all. After not smoking for about a half year, I had a beautiful experience. So I am thinking maybe using it too close together? tell me your thoughts.

With me often it's the exact opposite. I generally think pretty highly of myself, but when I smoke indices around allot of people I tend to get quiet. I wouldn't say I get anxious, but I'll think things out way too much, basically try and weigh the merit of what I was going to say and the possible consequences. More often the. Not I'll end up not saying anything.

Sativas are a totally different story... Give me a good sativa and I'll talk like I'm on coke.

I never thought of that-maybe it's an indica/sativa issue..I'm not sure how to tell the difference(that's my fiance's area of expertise), but maybe I could ask him whether I have smoked more of one than the other.

This is her fiance here. That's not so much my area of expertise. AFAIK, somebody correct me if I'm wrong on anything here. Sativas have a higher THC content as well as some difference in cannabinoids and will cause a trippy, light, intense head high, while indicas have more CBD (anxiolytic?) and less THC, causing a heavy body stone and less of a mind high. Most headies going around places are sativa dominant hybrids. Am I right?

Yes, that all sounds right as far as CBD, THC and their effects go. However, from my understanding, there are plenty of indicas with THC content in the 20th percentile as well as sativas with..say 15% THC. Really depends on plant genetics, growing/flowering,curing..If you consider the actual number of strains out there, saying indicas have more THC doesnt make a lot of sense to me.

Most comercially available strains are hybrids at best, often indica dominant. Sativas just dont yield in a comercially viable way. I agree with deez nuggs, cant really put it in a 'one or the other' category, its more of a spectrum deal. On one end you have your pure sativas, like hazes etc, on the other youve got heavy pure indicas, like NL etc. Most everything is somewhere in the middle. Shit, even these days most hazes are crossed with NL or the like for increased yield. Same with NL or the like, they are crossed to achieve ballance. At this point there really is no such thing as true anything... Many different breeders put out a 'haze' or a NL; they must be derived from the same genetics to carry the name, but even within a strain there are multiple phenotypes. Basically unless you grow it yourself or know who does there is little to no way to really determine what you are smoking... until after you have smoked it. As a general rule, though, if it is light and fluffy and makes you talk and want to do shit its probably sativa dom. If its dense and has a real heavy fuel like odor, puts you on your ass or to sleep.. its most likely indica dom.

Note I used words like 'most likely' and 'probably'... Smell especially cannot be relied upon as a good indicator

Whenever I smoke I do not obtain an ego, rather a feeling of not caring about what is going on around me. Or anything at that. yay:D but it will be different for everyone. If you feel this would benefit your smoking experience then go for the skip a few days and enjoy it with your fiance.
