Opioids bad diarrhea problems

Ok, so kind of embarrassing to have to post this here...but i feel i need to get some opinions! I started taking morphine recreationally about 3 months ago. Started at 30mg a day ish, and then upped to about 60-90 a day, every day for a good 3 months. About 2 months ago, every morning i would get horrible diarrhea until i dosed up, then it would clear up within 30 minutes or so. I realized the morphine usage was getting ridiculous, and have been clean for 8 days now, with a relapse in between for 2 days. NOW, the diarrhea has been lasting all day everyday...well for 2 days i guess. Also should be noted that i drink a lot of alcohol, everyday, all day. Not looking for a lecture here, i know how all of this is affecting my body in very bad ways. So my question is, is this diarrhea a product of withdrawal? I weened myself off pretty well i thought...going down to 7.5mgs usually twice a day, then just stopped taking it aboutu 8 days ago. I'm hoping this is just withdrawal and not ibs or chrones disease or something more serious. Anyone have any tips to relieve this horrible problem ive gotten myself into? I went to the bathroom about 12 times yesterday...all straight butt pee. And a little bit of black poop...pretty gross. I haven't even eaten for 2 days so im not really sure what that was supposed to be, but yeah, please helP!!

Yes, the diarrhea is most likely a product of opiate withdrawal. I suggest getting off of it to find out if there are some other issues though, as you mentioned you have concerns about.

Loperamide (brand name Imodium) is what you want to take to help with this problem. Try 10mg of it. Try to use it sparingly though because it may only be prolonging the withdrawal (because loperamide is an opioid that doesn't cross the BBB), and you seem to be almost in the clear.

word, i am off of it now, too broke to afford more if i wanted to (which i do)! But cool, i've never had any problems like this before opiates, so i am assuming it is NOT some kind of disease. Is Imodium expensive?? And would they have it at a dollar store type place? Bout to go poop n walk down there quick if yes!

(edit) how long should i expect this "condition" to last based off of my usage? Couple more days? please??!?

BBB is blood-brain barrier. Drugs that pass it faster, provide more of a rush basically. And drugs that don't pass it at all, can't produce all of the same effects as similar drugs that do. That's why loperamide is able to be sold OTC while it is opioid drug. I got the Rite Aid brand loperamide, and I think it was about 10 bucks for 48 2mg pills. 8-10 pills should help a lot, but it's dangerous to drink alcohol with them so please stop drinking before taking it.

I had that "condition" for close to a week when I kicked my worst opiate habit. Other times have been shorter (2 days), but my use wasn't as heavy during those times. Drinking alcohol certainly isn't helping any.

As for the first half of your reply, it's hard to tell really. 8 days is definitely on the long side of things, but I don't know how much the alcohol is contributing to this.

As for the second part, I completely agree. A lot of people mask symptoms from the effects of their drug use, and when they experience them when they don't dose, they chalk it up to withdrawals.

yeah, i kind of thought it was on the long side of it...but the imodium off brand deeeeffffinately helped. Diarrhea free since a few hours ago! I think you guys are right, though. If it isn't gone within 3 more days, goin to the free clinic on mondayl
