Baclofen - Inexperienced - 20 hours

My first time taking baclofen, I decided to try 40mg... I figured it would be weak since I heard about people taking so much more, but I basically felt like I was way too wasted on alcohol for 24 hours, it was awful.

Hey, if anyone does still read this article I’d like to add my two cents. They are worth more. If you don’t want to read it just take this from it DONT DRINK AND TAKE BACLOFEN, especially at high doses. I am on a lot of opiates for a long time and used to take baclofen when I would use up all my oxy to take the place of oxy. It was better than detoxing. I USED TO drink heavily as well, back and leg pain for 17 years after an accident. Well about 2015 I was settling in to watch the MTV Video Music Awards, my wife bought me a daiquiri and I had just took all my oxy’s two days before and when I ran out of oxy’s I would take baclofen in large doses 5-10 10 mg pills at a time sometimes several times a night. This night I started with in 10mg Vicodin, and about 6 or 7 baclofen. I had nothing before this except maybe 3/4 baclofen through the day to help w withdrawal from Oxy. But here’s the kicker. I sat down around 7pm for the show, daiquiri in hand, pills on board and next thing I knew I jump up and I’m surrounded by firefighters, ems and my wife and dad. See after I started to watch the show I apparently OD’d on something and of course the ems and firefighters and everyone (except my wife and Dad bc they knew what I took - I was open with them about it) were looking me up and down for track marks but my wife left to go to the neighbors house for a few minutes after the show started to get some food or drop off some food - I don’t remember- but she said when she came back my breathing was very loud and she couldn’t wake me up for anything. She called my dad first who lives literally 1 minute away and he came and couldn’t wake me. So they called 911 and the shit show started. Of course they narcanned me about 5 times but it wasn’t opiates it was the baclofen and alcohol. I was accused of being a dope fiend by the dr at the hospital bc my urine tested positive for opiates (no shit asshole I just told you I’m on bookuu oxy normally I just ate them all . Anyway about 8 months later I was drinking again and took some baclofen and the same thing happened. This time my wife called my brother who was able to wake me up and I was fine and just like the first time, no nodding back off like an opiate od or pinpoint pupils or any of the typical bullshit and after he woke me up we had a long talk about getting messed up on baclofen. I quit baclofen that night. I quit drinking in 2022. I’m still hard on the oxy’s and fentanyl patches though. Pain is a bitch. Moral of the story - DO NOT DRINK AND TAKE BACLOFEN, especially at high doses. It might happen to you it might not but it’s not something you want to find out and it’s not something that’s regularly looked for in a drug screen during autopsies so it may never be found if you’re found dead by yourself. Please don’t.

My experience with Baclofen for opioid potentiation. To summarize the upcoming story in one ominous sentence. After 60mg Baclofen and 120mg Oxy IR, my wife described me the next morning as an unconscious pile of quivering, twitching, drooling mess. I "slept on the couch". She took comfort in my tortured moans and loud gasps for air as my lungs clearly decided to take several breaks through the night. I was unresponsive to to almost anything. My neighbor was in combat rescue with the USAF for several Middle East tours stretching dessert storm to most recent conflicts in Syria and Afghanistan. He performed a several deep pain stimuli including jaw line pressure points, a vicious sternal rub and placing my legs and holding them in very uncomfortable stress positions. The sternal worked... Had it not, I would be intubated in a coma as I write this.
This is not my first experience with Baclofen. And it truly is the gold stadard for opiate potentiation. If you insist On using it, remember, Baclofen goes from 20mg's and an OC and feelin' fiiiine to a twitching pile of unresponsive drool in a big damn hurry. It has a tight curve. Just like Soma and many other skeletal muscle relaxers. Simply 10mg too much and you're done. I am a very experienced user of all opiates and their potentiators. IMHO- 600mg cimetedine, a benzo... And maybe promethazine are the way to go. Promethazine goes from "super fun" to intense and unpleasant delerient in about half a pill as well. Please respect Baclofen. It's not well documented. There is no antidote. You go to the ER in Bac OD, you get a dick tube. An endotracheal tube. Supportive care. And a bunch of people hoping you pull through. On a side note, and also poorly advertised, Baclofen is a miracle for severe alcoholism... hardened alcoholics regularly post reviews in shock that not every Dr in the US at least, is at least privy to this life saving information.

I know this is a very old post but I’m glad you pulled through. I haven’t used them in years now. Opiates constantly but baclofen no!
