I have a bottle of Baclofen lying around and looking it up in a PDF I saw it was a GABAb related to GHB.
In this paper
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2631377/pdf/nihms88489.pdfit seems to say(I'm no expert so if I'm wrong bear with me)that it has some actions similar to GHB,as well as some it does not. I know it has a low abuse potential but it can create w/d symptoms with long-time extended usage but in the short-term it can help with GHB/ETOH withdrawal.
What I'm curious of is with its interaction(or lack of)with GHB. Can it potentiate? Anything that is of interest is appreciated.

You should refrain from mixing GABA agonists.. it would likely potentiate GHB (never mixed them myself) but isn't G potent enough on its own?

Asking for trouble mixing them imo

the intoxicating effects of GHB are due to its affinity for the GHB receptor. Conversely most GABA b agonists are effective at treating drug addictions especially to GHB, since they both act on that receptor

Baclofen is one of the most dirtiest drugs out there my friend. I put it right next to Phenobarbital.

^fucking oath. it is in the least bit recreational.

it's useful for anxiety and as its intended use as a muscle relaxant the recommended doses.

if your idea of walking stumbling around without coordination, limp bodied with the dirtiest feeling in the head then go ahead and oblige.

mixing it with GHB, another gaba drug? even worse news. it's almost guaranteed blackout time and god knows what you might decide to do.

check out the search engine for baclofen.

I didn't plan on mixing the two together any time in the future. Like I had said my curiosity was more for times of little to no G and for opiate/G withdrawal for my wife. If I remember correctly I got them for restless leg syndrome(ie withdrawal)but never ended up taking them. Thanks for the 411.

FIRST, sorry to derail the topic of this thread, but when I see misinformation I see it necessary to address & correct it...

Completely wrong. The effects of GHB that cause it's sedative & anxiolytic activity is due to its GABAergic affinity, which of course is why GHB is sought after; whereas agonism at the GHB receptor can cause convulsions & contradictory effects. Drugs developed (mostly for research) that are selective at GHB receptors (acting as an agonist) but do not have any[/I GABAergic activity, produce effects nowhere near GHB, baclofen, or similar acting GABA-A agonists. Such GHB specific drugs are contradictory in that they are actually anxiogenic (not anxiolytic) and inductive of convulsions, possibly even seizure. There is absolutely no recreational value in GHB select agonists.

Uhh.. huh? That is a statement that completely contradicts itself. And the anti-addictive effects of baclofen, for example, are not due to GABA-B agonism. Baclofen's activity as a GABA-B agonist is more or less responsible for relieving spasticity & related pain.

GHB's awakening effects are due to the stimulant properties of the GHB receptor which can get down regulated through repeated use. Therefore long term GHB users often have more "downer" type effects rather than a beginner's "liquid ecstasy" experience.

GABA-b agonists are a good way to land yourself in a coma.
