what would you consider the benzos with the least amnesiac qualities?

i find alprazolam, diazepam great for general anxiety and occasional recreational use but they seem to have a nasty side effect of me doing things i cant remember after wards (usually foolish things)

i was wondering which benzos have less in the way of amnesia as a side effect?

clonazepam and i would say to a lesser extent ativan.

those are actually some of the benzos with the most complants of amnesia.

benzos with the least amnesia are usually the weaker ones that aren't very common. quazepam is a good example.

however, all benzos will cause amnesia to some extent. its a side effect that you'll just have to except with benzos. if amnesia is a real problem for you, i suggest you try other sedatives with a different mechanism of action as amnesia can happen with any GABA acting sedative.

^this would be one you are looking for(least amnesia), but effects wise its one of the weakest, dullest benzos there is.

imo amensia is part of the fun benzos have to offer, nothing like waking up in a car thats not yours wearing a rented tuxedo and golf shoes with a job application for an exotic bird store with no memory whatsoever of the night before...:D

whoever said clonazepam is not very bright. thats probably the benzo thats closest to alprazolam which is probably one of the biggest amnesic inducing benzos.

my pick would be diazepam.

From past experience I'd have to say that Diazepam can be quite an amnesiac and is rather sedating.

...that's the problem with Diazepam, so many memories I won't remember - NOFX

I dunno, for some reason, valium is something I've eaten 130mg at the most, and I still remember that whole night.

I will also say lorazepam is pretty non-amnesic, unless taken in higher doses. like 2-4mg, ok. 8mg, blackout.

of the ones I've tried, oxazepam is the least amnesic by far, whereas clonazepam and alprazolam wipe my memory pretty much every time I take 'em.

thanks all.

i will probably give lorazepam a try next time i want an anxiety free fun evening which i can remember.

although its not very recreational (imo)
