Lil' Cease - It's Been A Long Time Coming (1999)

B00000J6AC.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

NYC emcee Lil' Cease is best known for being Biggie Smalls's cousin and the leader of Junior
M.A.F.I.A which featured Lil' Kim before she got all that plastic surgery. This album actually got
to #26 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and #3 on their Rap/R&B chart and was supposed to
elevate him to Lil' Kim's stature as a solo artist, unfortunetly a lawsuit regarding him using a
young woman's voice on his album in a sexually-oriented manner without her permission
somewhat derailed his mainstream success. Junior M.A.F.I.A (which recorded only one album,
"Conspiracy", with the original lineup) broke up in 1997 following Biggie's death. They
later reunited in 2005 minus Lil' Kim for two indie albums that didn't register with the public.

Lil' Cease (along with fellow M.A.F.I.A member Banger [formerly "Larceny"]) went on to
testify against Lil' Kim in her 2005 perjury trial which got him labeled as a "snitch". His
defense was that there wasn't anything he could do since he was subpoenaed. It does make
sense but it kinda contradicts the message you send starring on stuff like "Get Money" and
"Die Anyway". After Lil Kim served her year-long sentence she sued Lil' Cease for using her
likeness on a 2005 Junior M.A.F.I.A documentary and won $500,000. To make things worse
for Mr. Cease he was publically knocked the fuck out in 2008 by a then-unknown rapper
named Manio, who went on to parlay the fame gotten from the fight into a major label
contract and singles with name artists like T-Pain.

Imagine if that album cover represented the highlight of your career. I wonder how high
Lil Cease's prozac dosage must be.

Tec-9 (no, not the one from Kansas City) of UNLV - Straight From Tha Ramp!!! (1995)

Damn that's ghetto as hell. I guess that's all they could afford, what with
his label Cash Money never paying him on time and all.

New Orleans rap group UNLV (Uptown Niggas Livin' Violently), currently consisting of Tec-9
and Lil' Ya) was one of the first groups signed to the now-famous Cash Money label, and
produced several local popular songs including the local smash "Drag 'Em From The River",
which was a diss record against then-No Limit artist Mystikal. They fell out with the label in
the late nineties regarding lack of payment from Cash Money Records for six produced
albums as well as Cash Money getting a cut of the profit from their non-CMR productions.
Also third member Yella Boyee was murdered in 1997 during the feud with Mystikal, which
he probably had nothing to do with except in the minds of conspiracy minded fans.

UNLV reunited in 2007 after finally receiving back pay from Cash Money, which both
members really needed due to their finances being ruined by Hurricane Katrina.

Here's his MySpace page.
He apperntly checks it semi-often as his last login is March 1st.

Chick Willis - Stoop Down Baby...Let Your Daddy See (1972)

B0000008L5.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V1115478324_.jpg

Chick Willis (born 1934) started in music as the chaffeur to his cousin Chuck Willis before
winning talent shows and stepping into Chuck's shoes after his cousin died of complications
due to stomach ulcers in 1957. He's a prolific blues singer, singing to this very day on various
singles and albums. The "Stoop Down Baby" single was popular in clubs but its subject
matter got it zero radio play. Other classic hits by Mr. Willis include "Nasty Chick" and
"I Got A Big Fat Woman".
