Avoiding track marks

@John_Burrows: No where did I explicitly say you should do that or it's a good idea, I stated why I thought it might be assumed they could be safe, and clearly injecting would lead to a higher order of magnitute (with the exception of anal and lots of lubricant, as that could be absored significantly interrectal). Also, oil based lubes have clear health implications, whereas water-based should be safer. Regardless, if this is a big problem to be used, then a much bigger problem would be it's promotion in needle exchange/harm reduction programs.

Well I wouldn't advise anyone to try this.

How to make marks heal twice as fast

Ok so I did an experiment and the results are excellent, here's something to try at home, kids:

- after you inject, fold up a paper towel, apply hot water to it and use it as a warm compress for the area you just hit. It should stay warm for about a minute.

- now apply a tiny dab of vitamin E to the injection spot. You can buy a bottle of E oil at Whole Foods or any decent health/vitamin shop, or you can actually pierce a vitamin E pill and squeeze out a drop of liquid

- reheat the compress and slap it back on your arm (I find that putting the wet towel in the microwave for 6-7 seconds is perfect)

- when it cools off (again, usually a minute or two), reheat and reapply. Do this as many times as you can without it being too much of a pain in the ass, but 2 or 3 times is probably a good minimum

Basically, the warm, wet skin is a lot more absorbent, so the vitamin e really has a chance to soak into the tiny wound and work it's magic (plus the warm compress will reduce any swelling and insure you don't get bumps or mosquito bites that often come when you shoot up).

My experience has shown that injecting marks will heal and disappear twice as fast if you do this.

Your mileage may vary, but it will DEFINTLEY make a difference.
