Bloody good documentary about the Saints, early Australian punk rock and the Brisbane music scene.

You familiar with any of these bands SKL?
I'm about the least 'patriotic' person there is, but there is something kinda cool about early aussie punk rock bands.

The Saints pre-dated - or were at least (unknown) contemporaries of - the Ramones, with a similar driving sound, before the "punk rock" label and media hype, before the Sex Pistols and the UK scene exploded.
An interesting trans-continental cultural ferment.

My list would be - not necessarily all punk but definitely influenced by it.
The Saints
X
Midnight Oil (early stuff up to and including Head Injuries - the best live band ive ever seen)
Radio Birdman
Birthday Party
Proton Energy Pills
Massappeal
Front End Loader
Tumbleweed (early stuff)
No Reason

I will probably think of more later.
