Auditory hallucinations days after LSD

My friend took 2 hits of LSD on Saturday, February 5th. He evidently went tripping at this bridge in our city with a great view, and had a powerful vision of himself jumping off the bridge and how beautiful it would be. He now hears this noise all the time, sometimes soft, sometimes so loud it's difficult to hear people talking, and all it makes him want to do is kill himself. His mom took him to the psych ward at the nearby hospital, where he is residing currently until we can all be sure he's ok. I've been scouring the internet for anyone else with a similar experience, but have come up with nothing (or course every experience is unique but intense auditory flashbacks are something I haven't heard of). I feel so guilty... I was my friend's initial ticket to the world of drugs. I just want to know that he'll be alright and be the same person he was before. :(

TL;DR: Friend takes 2 LSD hits, has a beautiful suicide vision, and is now hospitalized due to cutting. He said he has an auditory hallucination that makes him want to kill himself. Looking for any answers/simlar cases and their outcomes.

He seemed to be fine, he was texting me and thanking me for being such a good friend and telling me what an awesome time he was having, even saying we should enjoy some good German beer when he gets back from his trip there this summer. I wonder how we're supposed to do that if he kills himself.

I guess what I'm most concerned about is the persisting auditory hallucinations.

Sounds a lot like schizophrenia brought on due to a hallucinogenic, it all could be a schizophrenic episode he could snap out of or may always hear those voices, it is good he is a psych ward I am sure he is getting the help he needs there.

Yeah that's what it sounded like to me as well, but it's best for the psychiatric ward to decide and not us trippers. :)

No one here can and should tell you that everything will be fine with him because such matters are pretty serious but it may be a relief for you to hear that schizophrenia is in many cases not as unmanageable as people would have you believe. If it appears to be that, and persisting, he should not take any more drugs, period. If he doesn't he should not be violent or without outlook, or any of the other countless myths about schizophrenia.
Progressive schizophrenia is tough though but don't get too anxious over it. What else is there to say, I wouldn't blame myself especially if he appeared to be stable before. You can't know those things and many people here trip, knowing that it might go wrong. Harm can be reduced but not eliminated, there is potential harm in many things. It sucks if you don't know the risks and get an episode like him, that I'd agree with.

First just give it some time my friend, and wait to hear if he gets diagnosed or not. It might be okay after all, though I still wouldn't trip after this if I were him!

If it is schizophrenia god forbid, then - it sounds dumb but okay - you can read in "schizophrenia for dummies" since I happen to know the book specializes in getting a couple of things straight for people who worry like you do.
