I have recently been told there is another way to get high off an inhaler. I know how to do it. I know its possible. I need to know any side effect to look for? This has to be harmful, right? I just need some and advice. What should i do? No im not the one taking this.
I guess like a meth high? I dont even know anything about that.

Asthma inhalers don't have anything that will get you high. Some OTC inhalers for allergies will contain levomethamphetamine (NOT like meth, no euphoria. Just tweaky and uncomfortable) or propylhexedrine, but both have little to NO recreational value. If you want to get high, take something else.

Having been on an Albuterol Inhaler for Asthma my whole life, I'm very familiar with everything about them.

Albuterol is a long-acting beta-adrenergic agonist. This means it mimics the effects of Epinephrine (Adrenaline) at the Beta-Adrenic receptors. This causes bronchodilation (expanding of the airways) and greatly assists the body in remove mucus from the lungs and air pathways. Albuterol will have this effect, no matter how it's administered. However, since asthma attacks can be life-threatening, an inhalation aerosol was invent so Albuterol could have a more direct and immediate effect on the lungs and air pathways.

Because Albuterol mimics Epinephrine (Adrenaline), it cannot produce euphoria on it's own. This is the same as Epinephrine. Beta-Adrenergic agonism produces stimulation, however, the stimulation it provides it's similar to the stimulation Epinephrine provides. Most of it's effects are physical effects, not psychological. The one very prominent psychological effect Albuterol DOES provide is anxiety.

I've learned over the years that abusing Albuterol can't be done. Beside the fact that it doesn't produce euphoria anyways, the doses required for stimulation that you can "feel" are the same doses that cause panic attacks.

Albuterol is nowhere near meth. Meth effects the Dopamine, Norepinephrine, and Serotonergic systems in the brain. It doesn't have any effect on the beta-adrenergic receptors like Albuterol does. In fact, there mechanisms of action (how they work in the body) are completely unrelated to each other. Whoever told you "Yeah, you can get high off of Albuterol Inhalers lol. It's like meth lol" obviously has never tried meth or albuterol.

The one "high" that inhalers do give is due to the pressurized expelling agent that must be put into the tiny cans in order to expell the medication. It's not listed on any pharmaceutical websites what the exact ingredient is, however, they all say that it's a mix of hydrofluoroalkanes. Hydrofluoroalkanes are what make you high. Not the Albuterol. By huffing hydrofluoroalkanes you are actually depriving your brain of oxygen and are experiencing hypoventilation.

This is no different than huffing a can of air. Deliberately inhaling or "huffing" inhalers can be extremely dangerous or fatal. The intentional inhalation of Hydrofluoroalkanes caused a fatal cardiac arrhythmia in a 42 year-old man. Several reports of fatal car crashes have been linked to drivers huffing Hydrofluoroalkanes in albuterol inhalers. Due to inhalant abuse from idiots like you, I might have to deal with a bitterant being added to my Asthma "Albuterol HFA inhlation aerosol products".

This is common sense here. You could have found out everything I just told you with a simple google search.

If you want to get high, go steal some of your dads cigarettes or your moms vodka. Abusing inhalers is pointless and dangerous.

Since i am no idiot i had no plans on it anyway. I did several google searches. I did not find the info i was looking for. I know what huffing is. This is not what i am referring to. I did not put up all info on purpose because i did not want to give any ideas.Seeings how am am no child I have been able to buy cigarettes and alcohol long long time. My phone doesnt always allow me to view all pages or info on pages. Please forgive me if i thought i needed to ask questions so i could inform my child to the dangers. Maybe find some online info so i could show her. Not just because mom said so. So forgive me my idiocy and asking questions that may save a life!

Since its a stimulant then the users eyes will be dilated with excessive use.. this will be a clear indication. Also if the users lips are dry and they seem to have a dry mouth allot this may be another indication. The best way to deal with this is to sit down and have a non judgmental conversation where you dont freak out or get emotional at all.. i would suggest that this is done where the person feel at ease and does not feel they are put on the spot. Is this your child.. here is a good thread that shows the power of just sitting down with love and loosing all the bullshit.. yea the drugs are different but a drug users defensive response is often similar.. I wish you the best of outcomes and i hope this helps.. Personal message me anytime if you want.

Thank you. Yes she is mine. She hasnt done it yet. I havent let her out of my sight pretty much. I will definitely check out that site. Your wiki doesnt even have anything on this particular thing.

ProAir is a brand name of albuterol sulfate (aka, salbutamol) inhalation.

Albuterol is about as abusable as ibuprofen is. Caffeine is a more effective recreational stimulant than albuterol or other adrenergic agonists will ever be. At best, they will raise blood pressure & cause panic/anxiety.

If you are concerned about your child abusing his/her asthma inhaler... I'm not sure what to say. It is very unlikely that someone would develop an inhaler habit for the "high".

Wikipedia has a little more info on the dangers of albuterol overuse. More importantly is that if an asthma sufferer runs out of their inhaler early, they don't have anything left to stop an attack.

The most common side effects are fine tremor, anxiety, headache, muscle cramps, dry mouth, and palpitation.Other symptoms may include tachycardia, arrhythmia, flushing, myocardial ischemia (rare), and disturbances of sleep and behaviour.

Personally when i was very young I thought ephedrine was recreational and used to eat a lot all the time, because i didnt know any better. As an asthma sufferer my whole life i can confirm some of the inhalers can cause a similar but milder effect in very high doses but it is in no way recreational or safe unless of course you are on the level where you still think ephedrine is recreational. I guess it all depends on your perspective.

take too many puffs of bricyinal at your periphal nervous system will go overtime - reminds be of the feeling that the long gone piperazines used to produce.....eeeeuuugghh! no thanks
