Hello everyone,

I've been reading threads on here for the past two years or so, but I haven't had much to contribute. I decided I'd like to start giving back to the community that has helped me so much.

I'm mainly interested in psychedelics.

Interestingly, I worked in a computational chemistry lab this summer. We were working on finding a drug to help treat cocaine addiction. (Message me if you'd like details). The research has helped me to learn a good deal about pharmacology, especially with DAT(primarily), SERT, and NET.

I have to take Ochem and Pchem at the same time this coming year. Wish me luck. :/

Also, I'm going to try to do a project in which I analyze common chemicals from different RC vendors (NMR, GC/MS) and attempt to determine their purity. Since my chemistry program is really small and since the professors hardly touch the equipment, I don't think the staff will have a problem with letting me do that. If that ends up working out, I'll try to think of a clever way to post results.

Go right ahead...no one is mean over in ADD...unless you are a person like me who says things like....what is a DARI? LOL My favorite Bluelighter of all-the King of Bluelight if you will is Fast and fabulous...and he will post up a storm with you if you are on his level young jedi!

I am also new to bluelight and thought I'd sneak in my first post here to say hi to you since we seem to have some of the same things in common. I am also a chemistry major who is taking P. chem next semester (although I have already taken O. chem since it is a prereq). I am also mainly interested in psychedelics (and some dissociatives), which is what initially sparked my interest over a decade ago in learning the hows & whys of life and has lead me to my path through science.

I think the project you want to do with RCs sounds fascinating and fun. I have not dabbled in the RC realm personally, but I have a deep love for analytical chemistry and anything involving NMR (who doesn't love powerful magnets??). I am starting research in the area of marine natural products where we separate and characterize pharmacologically-active metabolites to be used in drug discovery programs. Your project sounds more up my alley though ;)
