Opioids Ashwaghandha - Lowering Opiate Tolerance

I have just bought some Ashwaghandha (Swanson brand which I usually find to be quite good for herbal stuff) as I have heard that it can lower your tolerance to opiates.

I actually took 2 tabs today with my usual drink of poppy tea and it felt like it had potentiated it a bit but that could have been placebo effect. Does anyone know how to use this stuff to make it lower tolerance as at the moment I am just using guess work.

I am probably going to have a couple more days on the poppy, then knock it on the head for 4 - 6 weeks and see how I feel. Anyone with experience who wants to help will be doing me a favour though.

Placebo most likely, nothing is known to lower tolerance, but nmda antagonism has showed to prevent the onset or growth of tolerance, meaning your tolerance will stay at a somewhat constant level

I wouldn't say nothing is known to lower tolerance. Abstinence, for one, will definitely do so. I have read in a lot of places that is affects tolerance not immediately, like how I just described, but if taken during a period of abstinence the effects will be felt if continued when you start taking again, so it could be that it just allows it to remain at a steady level. That would still be nice though as it is cheap as chips.

Seems like ya got er figured out then. Why ask a question?
Interesting though, I've never heard of ashwagindinodongwang and its tolerance lowering effects. The mind is a strong thing though, placebo can be pretty strong at times.

Placebo. You can't lower one's opioid tolerance unless your actually taking less opioids less frequently. NMDA antagonists never helped me at all.

The only thing I can think of that might have a chance of working is the extremely careful use of opioid antagonists like naltrexone under professional supervision.

i think there is some hope for nmda antagonists to maintain or prevent some tolerance. I used magnesium daily with poppy seed tea (neither ideal candidates to test this but still) and my tolerance didn't get out of hand and even after 8 months daily i could still get high off a relatively normal dose compared to what i started at.

as has been said nothing apart from abstinence will lower tolerance. HOWEVER! Certain things potentiate opiates and this is one of them (all be it less well known). You can safely take up to around 10g in go of this stuff and it will really make you quite drowsy. Although if using with an opiate stick to smaller amounts. Enjoy

.

Because what I am planning could be completely the wrong way to go about it. I have never known anyone who has used it and I have just put my plan together from reading various vague posts on different forums. I have got something that sounds plausible from reading, but some dialogue with people who have actually used it would be much better. that's why I asked.

Cool. That is what I have done so far. I have used 1350mg with each drink. Having a couple of drinks a day. I am sure it is quite a strong potentiater and not just placebo because yesterday I was snoring after both drinks and woke up still feeling good with my eyes pinned both times. I haven't fallen asleep from a drink of poppy tea since probably the first I started using it.
