Article: Heart drug could help cocaine addicts

if anyone remembers a while back, i was looking for something to help me with the cravings associated with quitting coke.
someone suggested kava kava, and that suggestion was very helpful to me -- it made coming down from coke a lot less hellish, but it didn't curb the desire to use.
i've been using NAC for a little over a week at the suggestion of a naturopath. i would like to let you know first hand that it works.
it seems that it is best to take at night before bed with a glass of juice. i have had to increase my intake of vitamin C to combat the depletion associated with taking this amino acid, but that is a small price to pay for the improvements i have noticed since taking it.
my breathing has improved, my cravings are gone, and sicknesses that i associate with the drug have all but disappeared.
i am extremely skeptical about anything people say is "helpful" but i have personal evidence of the benefits right here in front of me.

i dont want to fool anyone here by saying "hey i'm cured". i'm not. the cravings still exist and the first time i took NAC, i did coke that night. what happened was what changed things for me.
i could not ingest a regular dosage. what amount i did yielded no real reward-like effect. as a result, my craving to do any of the drug became less and i was able to decide to stop.
the ritual of drugs has been the hardest part to break for me, which is purely psychological. but trying to do the drug when this amino acid is working in my system yielded no euphoric rush. in fact, all it did was leave the side effects of insuffulation and proved to be of no benefit to continue using.
as a result, i have become disinterested in coke.
NOTE: it can have harmful interactions, and it is important to be aware of what those are.
a list of those interactions can be found by clicking here and reading through.
