Are you an animal rescuer type?

if an animal is in anyway being tortured or in pain i can't stand it. I can't even watch those "donate to wildlife" ads cos they show bears dancing around in a circus cage. I've always switched channels and never seen the end of those ads. I can't even watch Lassie, ior milo and ottis, i'm serious

Me and my mum have taken home many stray dogs and gotten dogs from shelters ever since i was little.

The only wildlife/animal i've rescued was a bird that had it's wing broken badly, we waited for the wildlife park to open and handed it over to the careers. I would say i am, though i'd get very teary over it and would need someone to help me with the injured animal.

I've been fortunate that i haven't seen any half dead animals on the road. I've heard many stories and i just have to walk away cos it makes me feel helpless and sorry for the animal.
 
Im not a animal rescuer in the way of having a open house for hurt animals and strays.. but... I wouldnt leave a animal to die on the side of the road or let some-one be cruel to animal.. but if it was a really serious case then yes Id try do anything to make it cumfortable and etc... if it was going to die or be taken into the vet...
 
i'll always help an animal.
i remember once finding a little silver-eye in the dust with its eyes all blocked up. it was breathing very quickly and i nursed it for a little while. the poor thing did die though. dont know what made it die.

and we had a stray kitten given to us from some ppl because out of everyone in town they knew we would take care of it. someone had thrown it over someones fence i think. we ended up taking that cat from south west WA all the way across the nullabor in a campervan to tassie!!

i've never come across any injured animals by the road...but i'm sure i couldnt pass by and let it suffer!
 
I was forever bringing home strays when i was little and now my son does it lol I never got to keep any of them though. My parents are not real animal lovers :( I have saved little birds on occasion when i have seen them and would rescue any animal that looked like it needed it for sure though :)
