Hi guys. I'm Beloved Freak and I'm a screenwriter. I've been researching for my new film nonstop for months and there's something I am having trouble pinning down. Usually when I have to see something through someone's eyes that I've never seen during my lifetime, I take part in the activity. For example, there is a lot of drug use in this film, and the only drug I've done is weed. So over the next year I'll be trying many different drugs after doing thorough and educated research on each one.

There's one thing I am having a very difficult time with. In the film, the two leads are children that are being abused by their parents/step-parents. Now there are MANY abuse stories out there on the internet and in documentaries that has been very helpful. But there's still a gap. The two leads are a boy and a girl. Most of the stories told about abuse come from women, so that's helped me write the part from the girl's POV. But there aren't many told by men. I understand men are more hesitant to speak about these things. The few that are told by men are all either sexual abuse stories or physical/emotional abuse stories about female abusers. I have found only one story from a man about being physically abused by a father figure.

For a while I didn't know why there weren't many stories about this. Then I came up with a theory that maybe there aren't many stories about it because male on male violence is more accepted in our culture than any other kind. So maybe I can get some help here. If you're a male child abuse survivor whose abuser was a male figure, please IM me or respond here, if you like. I'm having a difficult time pinning it down, and I need to understand it in order to build this main character.

Thank you in advance, I know it's a lot to ask.

Why would we want to help you write a fake drama story, that will inevitably miss the mark because the production doesn't and cannot understand the target audience. Write what you know, and you obviously don't know enough about this subject. Stop trying to be trendy. By the way, there is more man on man sexual abuse in the U.S. than man on female. Do some research?

Actually it's based on a true story told from the point of view of the abused children, but make all the assumptions you want. I don't need help from you personally. And no, I will not "get the fuck outta here". Keep dreaming.
