Are tricyclic antidepressants harder to come off of than SSRIs/ SNRIs? I suffered coming off of the two later, but am in need of an antidepressant at the moment and was leaning towards a TCA or even MAOI.. any experiences? I cannot find anything on the net.

I used them for three yrs. one time and tapered easily. I was on no other medication at the time. I was on it for 9 months a yr. and a half ago and just quit not knowing it was not recommended. I am on a lot of medication now and didn't even notice other than I couldn't sleep that well for a week. The only reason that I quit was it made me sunburn very bad and I swear I thought that I could see that my skin was becoming translucent. But from what I read here they can be difficult to come off of.
