Are torch lighters better for weed?

i was smoking yesterday, and at about the 3 hr mark, i switched to my torch lighter for some reason and i noticed that i got a lot higher than i had with a regular lighter.
Has anyone else had this experience?
 
If by torch you mean jet lighter then the only rational explanation for your perceived difference in highs probably originates from the fact that jet lighters burn the weed better therefore allowing for a larger, quicker intake of smoke and the subsequent increased high. I can't for the life of me think of any other reason that might explain this situation, other then that you just percieved/imagined yourself to be higher.
 
Jet lighters are actually worse for the weed. Cannabinoids need low temperatures to vaporize, any flame at all is harmful and destroys active chemicals through "pyrolysis" (a chemical process where good shit is turned to ash (carbon and other wastes))

Torch style lighters are even hotter than normal flame, and as a result destroy more cannabinoids.

However, they look cooler and really, who cares its not like there is a weed shortage somewhere. Burn that shit !!!

(my personal favorite is using a cracked out lighter, the flame is huge and not v. hot)
 
it may have been just some weird coincidence; i'll have to try it again to make sure
 
yeh, me and my buddies were discussing this the other day and came ot the conclusion that jet lighters burn the weed too fast wasting it. also what that other guy said that sounded really smart was good too :D
 
But... They are very useful when you're stuck blazing in the freezing cold, on a very windy day(i live in Canada) because regular ones always go out and having to grind the flint starts to hurt alot since your hands are already hard as fuck from the low temp.

yeah we call it "placebo" 8)

or maybe you just got higher because you were smoking more weed
 
it wasn't placebo. that was the first time i used a torch lighter with weed, without even knowing any info beforehand on how it would affect the high. the difference was obvious to me
 
Yeah, they're definitely useful in sparking up a joint when you're outside and it's -20 with the windchill...

but hey, when you gotta smoke, you gotta smoke.

A torch lighter will defnitly get you higher, it's just because you're smoking so much more at one time. It is wasteful as others have said, as you could get a lot more hits and probably more THC content if you just ripped it normally.
