Misc Are there any non-opioid downers that aren't cross tolerant with alcohol?

Only weird ones that focus on the adrenal system/receptors—clonodine and related compounds. But even those will most likely have some downstream effect on GABA. So honestly, technically speaking, probably not. If something is a depressant, it will affect the GABA system in some way, somehow. Even if indirectly.

Besides, anything that causes proper relaxation or relief has a tax that must be paid. Even the adrenaline-focused drugs I mentioned have significant withdrawal symptoms.

Seroquel (quetiapine) is not considered cross-tolerant with alcohol. Instead, the combination of Seroquel and alcohol can lead to synergistic central nervous system (CNS) depression, meaning both substances amplify each other’s sedative effects. This increases the risk of severe side effects such as extreme drowsiness, dizziness, impaired coordination, confusion, and even respiratory depression.

i'm classifying seroquel as a downer from 25-100mg

idk if this is any answer

Maybe a naive question but whatever.
Far from it not only a dangerous one to answer also hard, as most if not all seem more or less like Alcohol. And should make any downer either loose effectiveness or amplifies the effect s of. On paper ! imo.

Did some reading having been addicted to Booze/ chronic consumption.
Benzodiazepinen [never addicted] never lost effect on me.
And vice versa when addicted 24/ 7 to GHB/ GBL. No Ethanol dependence had yet.
Both that and Benzo s were effectively used against the WD s.
No cross tolerance noticed. Both worked at normal beginner doses.

⚠️ This switching is dangerous A.F.
Must say never considered Benzodiazepinen as re creative pure as tool s.
But i was fucking with my GABA big time. Could have gone wrong !

This is a interesting text on it acute and chronic Alcohol intake, 'Toxicological interactions involving psychiatric drugs and Alcohol: an update'

Why from 25-100?

Why from 25-100?
some people can get sleep within an hr with 25mg ir
50mg works better for some
threw 100mg incase 50mg doesn't work for sleep, since it's probably not heaps sedating the next day

50mg should b enough unless lots of stims taken

This actually isn’t a naive question at all. This is quite interesting; I’ve never thought about it much. Alcohol and opioids also have cross tolerance in my experience. Alcohol really is kind of a jack of all trades when it comes to brain chemistry

antihistamines and neuroleptics id say, anticholinergics in general, maybe propofol, perhaps inhalation anesthetics, also a2-adrenergic agonists like clonidine. many muscle relaxants, SSRIs/SRIs/TCA as well.
