Are there any drugs that can increase nuerosteroids (allopregnenolone & THDOC) ?

I took a 5ar inhibitor (like Accutane or Finasteride) and even after months of being off the drug I still suffer from PFS. It has been found in a study this past month that these people who develop PFS from 5ar inhibitors, end up having super low levels of nuerosteroids allopregenolone and THDOC. The confusing part is why these neurosteroids are still so low even after discontinueing the drug.

Either way, I was curious if any known drugs increase or upregulate neurosteroids.

Not being able to activate those GABA-a receptors is something I do not wish upon my worst enemy.

I would definitely discuss this with your doctor if you haven't already. There are some drugs that are analogues of neurosteroids, increase neurosteroid levels, or increase the effects of neurosteroids, but they all have their own problems and you will likely be left even worse off if you discontinue them.

Also what is PFS? I haven't heard that abbreviation before.

Moving this to Other Drugs, since it's not a basic question.

BDD -> OD

PFS is Post-Finasteride syndrome. It turns out that messing with steroid synthesis can have permanent, long-lasting effects on mood and libido in some people.
