Are stamps disappearing from heroin bags?

Lyserg, don't know where in NYC you go, but I've found the lower east side to be a nightmare these days! Bags not only not stamped, sometimes not even sealed.
I'm in with some people I trust so I can get a heads up as to who's got decent gear that day, but no one sells direct and you gotta go through someone and kick them a bag to make the run for you and it's a big pain in the ass. If I hadn't given up my car I'd be over in newark so fast heads would spin....
p.s.- heard there's some bomb ass shit going around spanish harlem right now. Solid brown, reddish rock, looks almost like a chunk of opium. It's not sticky like tar, weird stuff but will literally knock you on your ass. The guy told me the spanish name for it but I forget

Yea, a close friend of mine recently copped in S. Harlem and obtained bags with dark, chunky rocks. Some of the best he has had in quite awhile. Don't know the spanish name for it and these were in unstamped bags of the likes he has never seen. Just plain wax paper, which was enclosed in blue plastic wrap...

Interesting shit you guys are seeing in spanish harlem. If anyone gets their hands on it, please post a picture somewhere. I'm really curious.

In NJ, it has always been possible to charge a dealer with murder, more often manslaughter, if someone o.d.s. When I did time in NJ [91 to 93] I served time with at least two people doing manslaughter over selling heroin. The reason you are probably not seeing stamps anymore is because some of the usually stupid dealers got a whiff of R.I.C.O. [continuing criminal enterprise] and are trying to cover their tracks in that respect. It is only a small number from what I here that are not using stamps since heroin is almost always stamped by the big fish now, unlike in the old days. Now the dealers you are buying from buy their heroin in glassines, just like you instead of getting weight and treating it and bagging it.

The Spanish name could be manteca which really means lard, but it's slang for H. They call all H as manteca. It's a guess, maybe they really have an individual name.

As for the city, it is all lowkey because any pitching spots go out of buisiness within a week now that people are no longer scared to drop a dime. The week before I left the country I noticed a new spot open up near my home and it lasted all of 4 days. It all changed in 97 with Guiliani and the Quality of Life movement. Damn I hate that fascist.

CPM: DOA was not a fentanyl anything. It was owned by a young Puerto Rican from my neighbourhood who had 9 spots at the height of it. IT was first called "Platoon." Then "LES," finally those three red letters "DOA." IT was just unusually good heroin. In fact, that brand was one of the brands that I caught that 4 year bid on [the other being "This Is It]."

The only time the tri state area ever got any fenetanyl was with "Tango and Cash," although that was an analog [3-methyl]. I am sure everyone knows that tale so I won't waste time telling it. They did say some of that crazy mixture from Chicago did make its way to Philly and south Jersey but I have not seen anything to prove that.

MzAnthrop: First, the bags themselves are just glassine bags used for stamp and coin collecting. They are bought in bulk and anyone can buy them over the net, etc. The stamps are simply rubber stamps and an ink pad. The dealers use several sources for these. There is a huge manufacturer of them in NYC but he is no longer a source because of the scutiny so now they usually go mailorder. The vials are made in China and used to be sold right over the counter in so called smokeshops until Giuliani 86d them as well. Now it is still sold but under the table. They have disappeared from use in NYC, soemthing I never thought I would live to see.

PIC: Yes, manteca means lard and it is the Puerto Rican slang for heroin. MExicans call it "chiva" meaning "goat." A ton of others call it other names.

That's exactly what I heard! They don't buy in weight anymore, they buy it already bagged in bricks. I was in rehab with some dude who worked for a "big fish" actually bagging the shit. He said when the workers went into the room to do the bagging, they'd all have to strip down to their boxers before they entered "the dope room" to make sure they weren't pocketing shit.
In my dope career, I've only known one dude who did his own bagging. This cat had a park ave. apt and a direct connect from thailand. He'd weigh it in front of you and then put it in plastic wrap and seal it with some kind of little sealing machine....

maybe sometime this week. Met some dude in detox a few months ago. Crazy Dominican dude. Tells me there's an area right in the South Bronx where it's literally a flea market for H: tar, all different kids of stamps, and then this hard red shit I was talking about. It's weird, it'd almost the consistency of really hard clay and you gotta chip it off with a knife. First time I got it, I thought it was a beat, but I knew by the taste it had to be something. To this day it's the only opiate I ever puked off of.....gotta get a few hundred bucks together first though cause i'm gonna be like a kid in disney world....

You're right, they use manteca to mean all dope in general. If they're tryin' to sell something really good, or pass it off as that, some will call it "choco" and say its better than the regular manteca. At least they do that here in Philly.

cnpmcmo: Ok, cool.

yeah, never knew how to spell it or what exaclty they were saying, always thought they were saying "montego" (in Philly) thats what it sounded like, ah manteca 'eh. just knew it meant 'i have dope.'

phrozen: notice in Philly lately how hardcore the cops have been at some of the blocks right past Front St.? theyve been cracking down like a motherfucker. still plenty of drive up spots, but sometimes its pretty fucking shady. i just got fucked with the other day by two cops that thought they could scare me.

i hadnt copped yet so didnt have shit on me.

Past Front in which direction? I never bother east of Front St., shit, east of American for that matter... I mean I used to a long time a go. What days were you there? If Thurs and Tues, then that would make a lot of sense.

Anyway, I'm not trying to break any rules and source on here, so it'd be better to take it pm's or AIM.

i'm not saying "overdue" in green are great right now, but in nj they just may very well be. I love it when people try to color code and say "oh, but daaaaym, green is always good." fucking idiots--stamp ink is stamp ink.

the weather may be getting colder in NJ but the dope only gets better...
