A doctor and this guy I know are planning on conducting a study on 4-aco-dipt. At first the doctor wanted to draw blood from the test subjects. Guy brought up that this may be a buzz kill for some. Doctor suggested something called a senso-patch. There will more then likely be 7 test subjects. The patches are $60us a piece, the doctor has offered to split costs of patches w/ guy. Would the info gathered from the patches be worth it? Don't know much about them.

I'd love to know more about this study. Why is 4-AcO-DiPT the study-material, and not 4-Ho-DiPT or some other tryptamine. This type of research is very rare.

Yes, indeed. DMT is the usual tryptamine of choice in experimental settings. Or is this "research" more of the kind that wont get submitted to any journals?

senso-patches and publication

yes we are going to try on publish it, probaly just on erowid or something though. I can't believe no one on this boards has anything to offer about these patches...

What exactly would you be researching?

Is the doctor an actual doctor that is qualified to do such testing on people, or is it a med student or some guy or something?

Not to sound like an ass, or slight you if you really know whats going on... but it seems to me that if you had to ask about something like that on a forum like this, that you may not be in a position to gather any useful data or to do so in a safe manner. I mean, I don't really see how you'd get the ok to do testing of a hallucinogenic drug on humans if you are asking a drug users forum for procedural reccomendations.

That, and the google results I get for SensoPatch make it sound like a new-agey aromatherapy gimmick for stress relief. Not that aromatherapy is useless for mood alteration, but I fail to see what good that would do you in this situation.

I got one other relevant result for SensoPatch, which was on a german website that said it was for "infection firewall diagnostics."

How often do doctors doing human testing of drugs have to split the cost of supplies with someone/pay for them out of pocket anyway?

All sounds fishy to me.

You're right- it sounds bit funny. Doing this research out of regular Joe's pockets without grants, etc. But there's alot of benefits coming from this kind of research to find out long/short terms effects general Tryptamines does to our bodies..

I'm not sure that Regular Joe would have the ability or facilities to determine any sort of long or short term effects, aside from noting that the drug did infact fuck them up. Unless Joe were pretty weathly, and could rent research space/equipment in a hospital... after getting whatever 'ok' is needed to dose up humans on designer chems for observation. In which case, I find it hard to believe they'd be asking random people for help setting up an experiment.

Regular joe approached his doctor friend about doing the study. Initially Joe just wanted to pass out questioneers and have the folks participating chart onset, peak, duration ect ect. Doctor guy said if he was going to get involved he would want more info than that. There is talk of a little meter that measures the mount of times a person can press a button in a given amount of time. The whole thing will be informal and somewhat clandestine. They do however have access to a full medical lab. Like was stated in the original post he wanted to draw blood from test subjects but joe thought that might be a buzz kill for some. That is when doc brought up these patches. I believe they are made by glaxco.

Yes, doc is a real MD, though he has not done anything but charity work and teaching for years.

Both Joe and Doc are what some would consider "wealthy" but when funding private research splitting the cost of equipment and materials does come up.=D

Well I wouldn't buy these patches. Everyone has their limits though. Why does he want to draw blood from you anyway. Are you sure he is not a Vampire??

See... I read this thread twice over... I really don't know what is the point of it so far.

Spun, you obviously have contact with the Doc, or maybe Joe who has contact with the Doc. He/they told you they will be using "Senso-patches."

Obviously, if the Doc suggested Senso-patches, the Doc knows how how to use Senso-patches, and why to use them in the first place.

Since obviously no one so far has ever heard of Senso-patches, you may want to ask the Doc why he suggested them and how he's going to use them :).

Like Jamshyd said, ask the Doc about the Senso-patches, how they work, what exactly they do, why he wants to use them, how they would be a substitute for drawing blood, what information will he be able to obtain by using them, etc. If you ever get around to doing that, please respond as I know you got me (and maybe even a few others) curious about what these patches actually are/do.

Putting in thin, flexable catheters in the forearm, is both easy, and relatively pain free... I definatly can see the problem though, if people are given high doses of psychoative drugs, and I think personally, unless the subjects are very experienced, ordinary blood taking would probably be advisable, so you don't get people high as hell, pulling catheters out of there arm.

joe tried to obtain more info about patches from doc the other day and was put off because doc's father is dying and doc is tending to him. He was told, "not to worry about it right now, I just don't have time, my father is in a very bad way". Sooo, I'll see if I can get joe to approach the doc about it again in a week or so. I'm just as curious if not more than most of y'all. I find transdermal stuff intrigueing. %)

*sigh* Is it just me, or do people's close ones always die when you have something important to ask them? ;)

Well spun, keep us informed. I bet a few of us are interested in that research.
