So i just moved to cali and when i went down to cvs for some needles the bitches denied me. Iv tried several places now and every place says they wont supply me with my needles. I go up and ask confidently if they hold 29 gauge half inch 1cc syringes for my grandfathers insulin shot. They say i need a prescription to buy the needles. As far as i know it is illegal for them to deny me the needles due to possible medical emergencies right? and if not and i do need a prescription how the fuck do i go about gettin some needles? can i buy some at an exchange? im not even sure they have those types of centers around here.

Unfortunately in California you need to have a prescription to purchase syringes in a pharmacy. * There isn't much you can do to convince them to sell you them. You either need to do some research and find out where the Syringe Exchanges are in your area, or you can just order them via internet for incredibly cheap. www.gpzservices.com is a great place for all your IV harm reduction necessities.

*EDIT: Evidently it depends on the county you live in. If they approved the ordinance [referred to in post below] then they can sell you up to 10. Otherwise it is still prescription only

^No shit.. Didn't know that.. So evidently it seems that it is based on what county you live in. The ones that approved the ordinance can sell you up to 10 syringes. Ones that rejected or haven't accepted it still cannot sell you them.

well shit i happen to live in one of the two rejected counties. How fuckin lucky am i haha. well i might needa get on ordering some but i did find some exchanges. Even if i dont have needles to exchange can i still go in n get some?

That sucks, man. I know what it's like having to fucking dick around tryin' to get clean rigs.. Out here in Jersey the whole state requires a prescription, and the closest exchange is about 30 miles from me out in the hood. Ah well. Thank god for methadone..

Anyways, as far as the exchanges, the ones I have been to will all give you clean rigs if you have none to exchange. I am a member of one, and when I first signed up they gave me a card with a number on it, and like 20 rigs and all the other goodies. After that the rule is that you get double what you bring back. But a few times I had gone there empty handed and just said I have none to exchange.. What do you want me to do? And they just gave me a 10 pack no problem.

cool cool thats good to hear. hopefully i can get around to going today thanks for the info. age wouldnt happen to be an issue right? do i gotta be 18?

Mm, not sure to be honest with you. When I signed up they didn't Id me or anything, just asked me some basic questions... it was anonymous basically since they don't ask your last name. It may depend on the location, though. I do know that in pharmacies you have to be 18 to purchase syringes, though. Good luck, let me know if you have any other problems.

In Santa Cruz County you can buy rigs at CVS. But I guess everywhere is different. The exchange here is pretty cool. They do home deliveries too and usually hook you up with at least one bag if you have nothing. And you always get free bleach, water, cottons, tie-offs, cookers, alcohol pads... they hook you up with whatever you need. I think most people would rather spend the money on giving us junkies free shit, than have to pay for our cocktails down the line.

Oh, There is a schedule on where they will be, and you just go to the location and tell them what you need and make the exchange. Here you dont have to have a card or anything really. Just show up...

Hey guys, I don't mean to be an asshole, but we don't need threads like this, I a working on a project which will assist everyone in getting needles.

In the state of California, without an exchange card (a card that is given to you when you first visit a needle exchange in California) you can only possess 10 needles. With an exchange card, that number changes, but I don't know if it's an unlimited number or not.

Check out what I have going on here.
