Not on a train, sadly.
Does anyone know anything about this? The wiki page posts its pic and claims it is a sedative/hypnotic. Yet I cannot find any info on its mechanism of action.

It is available in Japan in a number of OTC analgesics as "allylisopropylacetylurea".

Worth mentioning that I took it unknowingly last week. A friend gave me an Ibuprofen pill for a headache, and I found myself unusually relaxed after taking it. After much research, I found that that pill contained Ibuprofen + the above + caffeine.

Thanks for all the info people!

I was wondering about that as well, beens. I have a hard time believing it is significantly toxic in medicinal doses, since it is sold in Japan's equivalent to Advil and basically everyone takes it on a daily basis. The girl who gave me the pill was taking it for menstrual cramps and said it worked much better than the stuff she used in Canada (plain ibuprophen). She did not know it contained this stuff.

I am also impressed that I felt significant effects from a single pill (I don't remember the dose, but I'll be getting some more today so I'll let you know) with my general tolerance to GABAergics. Mostly muscle relaxation, on par with a large dose of methocarbamol. I wouldn't be surprised it its action is similar to carbamates.

Well, I just took two pills about an hour ago totalling 300mg ibuprophen, 120mg Allylisopropyl-acetylurea, and 160mg caffeine. The box tells me to take "two tablets at one time, not exceeding, however." (hmm....)

I am *impressed* that this is OTC! Yes, it is very mild, but it is better than anything OTC in Canada (bar codeine, of course ;)). I'd say its on par with a mild benzo... although it is more physically relaxing than metnally. Too bad I never tried carisoprodol to compare.

You make it sound like methaqualone ;)

Nope, I have not tried that one either. I only had two muscle relaxants, the first is methocarbamol, and the other (also OTC) I forgot what it was called... it works on glycine receptors in the spinal chord though, i think.
