Appreciation of Music and Medications!!

Best drugs for music composition: 2C-E, Hydrocodone, Klonopin, Weed

Klonopin eh? now that i think about it, while I was on the most klonopin I'd been on in my life (prescribed-4.75 mgs a day).
I was writing lots of songs. [:.

In regards to your gabapentin vs pregabalin question, LaCster got it spot on. The main advantage pregabalin has over gabapentin is the consistent bioavailability which never changes depending on food, multi-dosing etc. It stays at a constant 90% orally making it a much more potent drug. Gabapentin however has a very unsteady bioavailability which is almost affected by anything and decreases in correlation to consistent dosing. Keep in mind though that pregabalin is much more expensive.

thanks for the info. also about how much pregab would you say ='s 400 nuerontin?

Well they say 600 milligram of pregabalin is about 1800 milligrams of gabapentin. I'm inclined to believe however that a 150 milligram tablet of pregabalin is much stronger than 450 milligrams of gabapentin. If I had to guess, I'd say a 150 milligram tablet is about the same as 800 milligrams of gabapentin. I really think pregabalin is that much stronger but keep in mind it's different for everyone.

Pregabalin is also very euphoric, and synergizes extremely well with amphetamines like adderall, dexedrine, or methamphetamine. On top of that It makes the comedown very tolerable, it takes away the anxiety from the amphetamines, and all the nasty peripheral effects from adderall.

@ chromophobia, iyou have inspired me to chage my gabapentin to pregabelin lol. (:. I totally agree with whoever said its unstable, some days I feel it and other days I dot, it is quite weird

@midazle, I take it for something called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. A kind of nueropathy /:.

Of course when I get off parole I 'ma go back to (at least) weed-n I never got into psychedellics which is somethig I'm probally gona try to do-jus gotta be patient (:

N if ayone has had any expeirence with NRIs, plz share (:

Glad to be of service MMMMKAY?!

bloodshed344 please don't clutter threads with posts that take 10 minutes to scroll through filled with music. If you have music recommendations, put them in your blog, and in a post with a contribution to make, give the person in question a notice to visit your blog if they're interested.

Good point... music gets me worked up. But half my post was relevant text...

This is a question for anyone who takes or has taken opiates.
What change if any have you noticed in music while taking opiates?
Positive, negative?

Big positive. Not as good for music listening as psychedelics, but better for music composition.

I have only used alprazolam/xanax in combination with weed, I don't remember there being a massive difference in music appreciation apart from what normally does to it. Weed makes music sound a lot better for me and whilst hard to describe in words the more high I am the more the whole music spectrum seems to be stretches out so I can hear every little note and feel it.

Amphetamines send my music appreciation through the roof.

MDMA is king for music apppreciation, throw in some weed and wow.

Thx for the post mrspeedy(:
I was asking cuz on Friday I see my psych and he was gonna put me on xanax xr but I was thinking-because I know he rather do this than put me onna benzo-to just get the lyrica increased (I'm at 225mg t.I.d) since I know it can increase music appreciation

I registered just to post in this thread. I had been wondering about medications and music appreciation since 2010 when I started with lithium but could never find anything about it on the internet. Finally! Well, I first noticed my music appreciation was gone when I went to a Broken Social Scene show in Boston. Felt absolutely nothing... and usually I get a mood lift and overall epic feeling at concerts. Then I horrifyingly noticed that every subsequent show I went to was just as disappointing as the next... and these were bands I loved.

Also I don't get buzzed when I drink alcohol thanks to this drug. So a couple of (what I think are ) important staples of my youth have been compromised. The upside is that I'm going to graduate with a bachelor's degree in December thanks to the benefits of lithium.

Oh, and every time I taper down the lithium when I try to get off it, music becomes emotionally powerful again after a week or so of weaning. So if anyone is wondering, yes, lithium definitely does (at least in me) cause a decreased appreciation in music.

Old thread I know, but I had to register to post in this thread because I could totally relate to the OP. Like the OP, music used to be my LIFE, and I lost pretty much all appreciation for it after having a drug induced psychosis from some laced weed last November and being put on Risperdal.

I got off the Risperdal mid January after being on it for about 2 months and although some of the side effects of Risperdal went away with discontinuation and I feel way better than I did when I was on it, I'm still stuck with no appreciation for music, feeling emotionally blunted, just total anhedonia. I'm not sure if I still haven't fully recovered from the Risperdal, if I'm experiencing the negative symptoms of psychosis, the laced weed somehow fucked up my brain, or what.

I'm currently on 150mg Wellbutrin which I started May 24th, and although it's given me a little more energy and lifted my mood a little bit, it really hasn't touched the anhedonia. So I was wondering if any of you guys have any recommendations for drugs to run by my psychiatrist that would give me my music appreciation back and help with my emotional blunting and anhedonia?
