The forum is set such that you can only reply to your own posts - it is not intended for discussions, or replying to other people, it is there solely for you to try out things (avatars, tags, links, etc).

/me makes note to create a sticky and/or guidelines for the forum with this explanation.

[Edited: nm, I just saw that there WAS a sticky which explained the forum, some staff member (looks in mirror) accidentally deleted it and unstuck it. It's back now.]
