Appetite Suppression

tl;dr: excess protein leads to all sorts of problems but it has nothing to do with weight gain, also, please learn to math.
Protein has calories. An excess of calories, regardless of the source, will lead to weight gain. But you are right, atara: Before the weight from protein piles on, you are setting yourself up for a whole slew of worse issues.

Can we say casein and whey? It sickens me when people drink two or three of those shakes a day just so they can be bulky. :(

After seeing this thread on your thread about reducing the size of your legs, I'm convinced you might have body dysmorphic disorder.

I know you have the best intentions with what you've said but let's please try to resist the temptation to give labels or diagnoses in threads like this. We are not medical or psychological professionals :)

You are 16 years old and your body and brain are still developing. You must get enough (or even too much!) nutrition during this time as your body has many more critical growth periods to experience. After seeing this thread on your thread about reducing the size of your legs, I'm convinced you might have body dysmorphic disorder. Females and gay guys are especially at risk as they seem to be the most affected by their social world. You've got your whole life ahead of you to shape and sculpt your body, but try not to worry about perfection too much. It could spiral into an obsession that ruins a great part of your life until you seek treatment.

hmm maybe your right, ill look into it thanks:)

i know im young but as far as nutrition goes i think ive got it covered. i take a beastly multivitamin, tons of green tea, and go long-distance running daily.

^ yeh man don't take any criticism too hard, it's only because we're concerned & looking out for you. Listen to this advice in particular:

There's an old outdated, and half insane old wilves tale that says that says if you put together cafiene, ephedrine (bronkaid/promethazine) and and aspirin (give or take a few) into a lovely little cocktail, and eat it a few times a day, you will lose a few moumbas.

Who knows they were all crazy afterall.

^ haha yeh that works ;) the combo is actually illegal in Australia (as ephedrine is banned). Given he's 16 I don't think he should be taking weight loss / cutting stacks though. It's also worth looking into one's family history for heart problems before doing so regardless.

Edit: promethazine is a strong 1st-gen antihistamine & unrelated to ephedrine. Might not be wise to take it if you're trying to lose weight, reduce appetite etc though as it makes you pretty drowsy & I'm pretty sure these types of antihistamines may have been linked to weight gain? I'd have to look into it more though so don't take my word for it.

Ephedrine has been hidden away in covertary ways, but if you look close in asthma medications and broncodiolators its alive and well. What I dont understand is the connection between asthma and and superhuman construction..hmmm??...

i def second this. dont diet when you're so young. i did it and i screwed up my metabolism and developed an eating disorder (which still comes back to haunt me from time to time). so just eat healthy and exercise so you don't screw up your body while you're still growing!

ephedrine is illegal in the US too i beleive.

I struggled with hunger for years, especially in the late afternoons and early evenings and the main solution for me turned out to be surprising: Start the day with a good sized breakfast with plenty of protein.

I never was a breakfast eater, and it made no sense to me that eating a protein rich breakfast would have any effect on hunger later in the day - but it was suggested to me and it's worked like a charm. For me that's bacon & eggs. Oatmeal also works amazingly well at keeping off hunger.

Otherwise, drink water and have healthy protein snacks on hand throughout the day - Greek yogourt can be an excellent and delicious source of protein and to keep hunger at bay - plus it goes well with fresh fruits.

^^i tried big breakfast's (<--is that right?) but i still get hungry.

im currently taking chromium picolinate + large glass of water 45 minutes before a meal and it helps me eat less.
