Powerful poem someone wrote for me, just ran across it again today and figure i'd share it with you.
If you find yourself wanting upon a moonlit beach,
Bathe your sorrows with Aphrodite in an adoring sea,
Savoring the tang of each salty mouthful choked down,
For it is here you shall drown, courtesy of me.
If you find yourself cast ashore by a overzealous wave,
From the watery depths onto the firmly packed sand,
Be sure to acknowledge the solidity of the surface beneath,
For I can offer you this stability if you dare only take my hand.
If you find yourself breathlessly sprawled upon the ground,
Gasping and yearning for the caress of a gentle wind upon your face,
I would certainly summon a breeze, but be careful what you wish,
For the gusts from the hurricane that comes will carry you into my embrace.
If you find youself chilled and shivering from the storm that follows,
Drag yourself towards the dancing flames of fire in the distance that glow,
But curl up alongside Ares blazing pyre at your own risk,
For it is you that fuels my inferno, and in reckless abandon of it you shall know.
