Associated Press said:
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — State Police investigators said in a written report that a woman who killed seven people plus herself in a crash on the Taconic State Parkway was a regular marijuana user.

The report says Diane Schuler's husband told police his wife "smoked marijuana once in a while to relieve the stress of work and the kids."

Schuler's sister-in-law told police she "didn't believe in medicine and used marijuana to relax," usually smoking after her children went to bed.

Relatives of the crash victims got the report during a meeting with police and prosecutors, then made it available to reporters.

Schuler, her daughter and three of her nieces were killed when she drove the wrong way on the highway in July. Three men in the car she hit were also killed.

Tragedy, sure, but what does getting stoned now and then or being skeptical of modern medicine have to do with anything?

It is ridiculous to me if someone who is a known drug user gets in to a crash then it is assumed they would of been on drugs but if someone who drinks gets into a crash its not even called into question until/unless its proven.

pretty much. unfortunately i think a subsequent article said she was actually really drunk and tested positively for weed... just another bad rap for us

I give fox credit for covering things that every other network will ignore when it doesn't fit their political agenda, (not that they arn't guilty of the same, but they're the ONLY non democratic news network so they kinda win by default if you're looking to get the whole story) but the way every single person on that station sticks up their nose to anything involving drugs constantly leaves me wanting to rip their snide asses through the TV screen to smack some sense into them.

god fox pisses me off sometimes

Fair enough, but it's an AP article-- a duplicate of the same story was available on both CNN and MSNBC websites.

Well according to this version of the article, she was DRUNK at the time. Too bad Fox failed to get that point out there.

(Nov. 9) -- Witnesses saw Diane Schuler pull to the side of the road and get sick before she drove the wrong way down a New York freeway July 26 and caused a deadly car crash, according to police reports obtained by the New York Post.
Schuler first pulled over her minivan at 11:45 a.m. on the day of the crash, the police reports say. Witnesses "noticed an adult female outside of the vehicle with brown hair, wearing blue, knee-length shorts, bent over with her hands on her knees, as if throwing up," the records say.

Diane Schuler, here in an undated photo, pulled over and got sick twice July 26 before she drove the wrong way down a freeway in New York and hit an oncoming SUV, according to police reports. Autopsy results released in August showed she was drunk and had smoked marijuana before the crash, which killed her and seven others.

She was seen stopping again a short time later just north of a rest stop, the Post reported. At 1:35 p.m., she crashed her vehicle into an SUV carrying three men on the Taconic State Parkway, killing them as well as herself, her 2-year-old daughter and her three young nieces.

Late last week, The Associated Press reported that Schuler's relatives told police she used pot as a way of coping with stress.

I get laid once in a while so I guess I'm a stud according to Fox
No, but fucking causes car crashes. 8o

And yes, alcohol was a significant factor in the accident, but Fox and its sponsors are probably more excited about the pot because it's illicit.

Was there any elaboration made in the article as to wether or not she was in-fact high off THC at the time she crashed? Or was this horrible accident just blamed on weed cuz it was painfully convinent? What's next?

"Mass murderer who killed a bus full of nuns discovered to have taken a hit off a joint 32 years ago in college, likely leading to his murderous rampage"

^saw the toxicologist on Oprah. She was most certainly high, but she was also certainly drunk. Found a 1.5L bottle of vodka in the back. The kids also apparently had access to it when she stopped to presumably barf.

I once heard that certain days in summer, when ice cream sales were highest, incidents of domestic violence were highest too... obviously ice cream leads to domestic violence, right?

No, because correlation does not equal cause.

Nifty bag o' tricks they got up them sleeves...

^I get violent on rockey road.. some people don't drink whisky for a reason... I gots to avoid that 'road

^Yeah but I'm sure that compared to being drunk and probably also just generally being an idiot, her cannabis consumption had comparatively little effect.
