Anyone with health knowledge? Kidney Cleansing from ketamine usage

Firstly, how do you know that the person replying does actually have health knowledge? The internet is full of people who think or claim to have knowledge in areas they actually know nothing about.. not trying to sound mean, just don't think it's sensible to ask for health opinions of this nature on a drugs website full of randoms :)

Secondly, ketamine affects your bladder causing inflammation and scarring, not your kidneys. "Cleansing" your kidneys (or even your bladder) in any way would not stop the ketamine (or more specifically it's metabolite norketamine) from doing the damage I suspect..

But, as you asked, I personally think they both look like complete and utter rubbish and would not believe their claims for a second.

Things like this make me so angry - I've seen the damage long term ketamine use can do to the bladder, and unscientific and unproven claims like this could do a lot of harm as they could prevent someone from seeking medical help or lead someone to believe they are protected when they are not..

This is just my opinion of course. I am sure there are lots of people who would disagree with me. I, however, like my medicines to be based on actual science and have a good evidence base..

(Hehe sorry if I sounded grumpy, just a pet hate of mine. Your best bet is to be moderate with your ketamine use and stop at the first sign of any urinary problems, and see a doctor.. good luck <3 )

IMO the only sure fire way to heal ketamine induced damage is stop doing ketamine. "Kidney cleaning" products are a sham and aren't going to help.

Indeed. And stopping once the damage is done might be too late if it has become severe.. stopping at first sign of urinary problems is the best bet really, I know this is difficult and might sound over the top but you do NOT want to have a bladder scarred by constant inflammation, or even have to have it removed and piss into a bag. Ketamine-induced cystitis is serious bizniz... and shams like this make me so mad!

How is discontinuing use of a drug that is causing you physical problems over the top? Seems pretty rational to me. But yes, moderation is going to be much more effective in preventing complications than any product.

It's not over the top no, but I have known many ketamine users who wouldn't consider stopping their favourite drug just because they are finding it a bit harder to pee... was being realistic. But no, you're right, it isn't over the top at all!

While you may say that the only way to prevent harm is to stop using ketamine, not everyone is going to heed that advice and so it would be beneficial for others to offer detox advice to those who are asking.

My advice for when you are consuming anything which your body has to work harder to metabolize and excrete is to drink lots of water, more than you would if you are eating and drinking a regular healthy diet. I may not be a health professional, but I believe that I'm qualified in living as an organism enough to offer that advice. H2O is really what the body needs in the largest quantity to flush out toxins, so if your body is under a metabolic load due to excessive drug-taking you need to balance that with increased water drinking (except if those drugs were water-retaining in which case you would need a diuretic). I haven't clicked the links in the original post yet, but I'm pretty certain that there are substances - both organic and synthetic, mostly organic - which help the body flush toxins even faster and more efficiently by increasing certain enzymes and functionality in particular organs and such.

Thank you survived abortion... for sayinf there is organic and inorganic things that help clean the body out i dont know why everyone else thinks everythings faked... Maybe I am better off asking my question on a medical forum and not a drug forum.

Thanks everyone....

And yes ketamine can do damage to the kidneys.... it isnt just restricted to the bladder people....

The only thing that I know of that probably actually makes a bit of a difference other then not using too much too often is drinking constant and plenty of water. A friend of mine and me both went through a bit of a bingy ketamine filled period the past month or so, and while I used more in terms of grams then he did, hé suffered some very mild bladder issues (peeing more often to be exact) while I did not. The difference being that I drink over 2 liters of water a day (I tend to do that anyway, I hate thrist) and he drank nót enough water in a day. He's also 1.5-2 times my weight, so in terms of that I should've been the one experiencing unpleasantness in the bladder and water prevented that.

Either way if you want to be safe, cut down to at most two times a month of doing ketamine and drink plenty of water that day and the day after. If you fail at cutting down (a possibility) then atleast pay attention to your water intake, the longer you leave the norketamine-filled-urine in your body, the worse I'd guess it'd be for your bladder.
