Anyone love EDM but don't like rolling at raves?

I love EDM more than almost anyone and listen to about a dozen different genres of it, and come off kind of Jersey shoreish to people. But I realized I don't enjoy rolling at raves, and I'd much rather just be stoned or drink at those. Rolling relaxes me, doesn't make me wanna start jumping around. I'd much rather roll at the beach or at a chill jam band show or something, even though I don't really listen to Phish or that stuff too much. I never would have guessed it, but I just feel a lot more in my element at a rave stoned or drunk, than I do on E.

I'm not a lazy guy either, I have ADHD and I am perma-stimulated just from being sober, so I'm guessing maybe that affects my odd preferences?
 
There's nothing wrong with not taking X at raves.

I have a friend that goes to raves to listen to EDM, have fun, hang out with friends, meet new people and dance. He has rolled at raves before but he preferred taking MDMA while on vacation and exploring a city or going on a beach with someone he was in a relationship with who was also rolling than doing it at a rave and rolling there the entire time.

From what he's told me the last few raves he's went to he just either drank some or stayed sober since he had more fun doing this than rolling at a rave.

I've never taken MDMA/MDA at all so I don't know what it does. I've been to lots of "jam band" shows and all I do there is just drink before the show in the lot, or sometimes I'll smoke but I've only done that a few times at shows.
 
i enjoy raves either way, i recently started producing d&b/dubstep in my free time and the music is what moves me. i mean don't get me wrong i prefer rolling at a rave to not rolling, but if you truly love the music it shouldn't matter if the drugs are involved or not.
 
It's just personal preference, nobody says you have to roll at raves. Personally, it's my favorite place to roll so it's where I roll :)

I'm just confused because I love all rave music and I figured I would love rolling there, but no didn't feel comfortable for me for some reason?
 
I adore EDM- fanatically. Every genre, I can tell you where to go in my city ton see it, whose big in what category etc. etc. but I actually now find MDMA too flooring for raves. I find that for the past year, when I roll, I'm not super social, I'm more cuddly and not hyper aware of music or what's going on outside of my general circle of friends. I typically drink now when I go out, and love up on all the rolling people :) Occasionally I do mephedrone (my favorite to rave with!), but I limit that to keep it special, and it possibly not being available one day. You're not weird- MDMA was not invented with raves or EDM in mind, even though to many it seems like a perfect combo.
 
I love my EDM but was never really into going to raves or clubs without taking MD. Sort of like going to a bar and not drinking... I just get bored.. and tired.
 
Raves are just a good drug setting. Music, warm/accepting environment, and sick fucking lights. I took mdma for my first time at a rave, but later learned I enjoy it in other settings just as much. The only thing is, I could roll at home whenever I want, so its better to keep it to events. It helps me control my usage. Also, I always like to be around some new people on MDMA. Raves are a good place to see familiar faces but also link up with other party people.
 
I don't enjoy rolling at raves or clubs with headline DJs, boozing works much better for those. But straight up raves where almost every body is rolling, I enjoy rolling. I used to only go to shit like Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk and thought I didn't enjoy rolling to EDM either, but then when I found the local rave scene here that changed.
 
I love EDM and I love MDMA - if I can have both in a nice setting (Rave/Club) then bonus - lights, dancefloor, smiling faces, fit bodies etc.

If I cant have the club/rave setting then that doesnt stop me taking the drugs :D

I just enjoy MDMA and EDM - I really dont care if its in my car, sitting in my home alone, sitting on a beach, walking around the moll with my headphones on rolling face, sitting around talking rubbish with friends or dancing in a field, tent, club etc with hundreds/thousands of like minded people.

Its MDMA and EDM - whats there not to like?
