anyone know why my heart rate would go up on opiates

im 23 and been addicted to oxycodone roxi oxcontin for 4 years .. my heart rate can be between 90-120 all the time but ive noticed when i detox my heartrate gos down to about 60 to 80 ..also 3 years ago i was put on hbp meds cause my doc realized i had really high bp 180/110 but my meds keep it normal i still dont know the reason for my hbp cause i dont have insurance and cant get all the test down that i need
 
when I was in rehab for opiates, alot of people had extremely low b.p's there. They told me mine was something like 60 over ?..... It was usually 110/70, but recently (I have stopped opiated and am tapering off benzos) it has been high, which I contribute to weaning off of benzos. The rehab was pretty shady, I mean I remember taking 7 pills at night there, when I went in prescribed one, so I didnt take the LBP seriously.

I'm not an expert but don't some opiods act as CNS antagonists (eg. tramadol)- I've certainly found my pulse to increase on codiene and tramadol.

CNS antagonist?? That doesn't make any sense. Opioids are generally CNS DEPRESSANTS, however things like tramadol can have slight stimulatory effects, though Im fairly certain that this stimulation is not due to the opioid effects of tramadol, but rather due to its effect on norepinephrine.-DG

Yeah, you are right about tramadol, definatly norpinepherine and seratonin agonists (mild). I may well be getting my facts confused BUT

The Nociceptin receptor which some opiods are also a ligand for, causes gaba inhibition and mild cns exitation -as well as anxiety.

Just a hunch but when I'm on codiene I feel anxious and high. I don't see this as a pure depresent, although it usually has that overall effect. It seems to give a sense of euphoria that sedatives and standard depresents don't give.

I'll have a dig around when I'm at uni and perhaps come up with something more scientific (perhaps this is the wrong forum)

yea man when i was in a detox they were druging me up to the point were my pulse was droping to the 40s and it was scaring the shit out of me cause im used to 120 witch i think was from the clonidine on top of my prescribed lisinopril for my bp... but im saying even when i detox on my own and stay clean it will stay around 60

and when i detox i detox hard .. i had the workers in there telling me they never seen somedetoxas bad as me .. they had use wearing scrubs and they would have to give me 4 pairs a day cause i was sweating so bad and thank god for thank good for the bentel the give you for gramps but a 6 day detox is pointless for me cause i leave there still sick and then start having the shits cause i stopped taking the bentel

when my habit wasnt even that bad around 90mgs of oxy a day i detoxed no lie for a good month and lost 42 pounds in less then a month.. then year later i was shooting 15 roxi 30s a day 5-6 at once i can still do 5 at once an d still not nod out ..i think there is just somthing with my body thats different ... my last time trying a detox the nurse there thought i was lien to her cause i shoot an 80 2 1/2 hours before she gave me a check up and she told me my body was already withdrawal


and i do have sever anxiety so idk i dont really no much about this Nociceptin receptor could someone explain in kind of a simple was im not the smartest person
 
I don't know about a lot of the other ones, but I have a terrible addiction to Tramadols. and they do raise your blood pressure, I know a lot of people say trams are useless and whatnot but they do good for me. I have checked my BP at the Local walmart many times on tram and it's usually twice as high as it's suppose to be, probably due to the norepinephrine and serotonin floods it creates. I've done lots of real opiates when I was younger but never for extended amounts of time. like I remember snorting a whole bottle of 5 mg oxycodones in a day while drinking a bottle wine (the oxycodones had no apap). in retrospect I had absolutely no tolerance so I could have killed myself, but you couldnt have told me that at the time. off an on I'd do hydros and beer, and oxys whenever they came around with no problem. but when I started doing tramadol, I kept doing it EVERYDAY all day. and the first time I ran out of 90 pills I was sicker than a dog. it's crazy that thats what finally got me sick lol. now I have to go to the moose pharmacy and get otc codiene for when I run out. it's been 7 months of daily tram use. I tapered off with kratom week before last. and havent' had any tram in about a week. anyways blood pressure sure gets high on them, but so does my motivation to be productive and do stuff. I never got that from oxy's or other opiates. only tram, it's the only one that makes me want to get up in the morning and do whatever the fuck I"m suppose to. eh oh well
 
oh yeah, you can buy something called cheratussin ac, it has 10 mg of codiene per teaspoon with a 100 mg of guaifenesen in it as well. for someone with a monster tolerance it might be quite useless but it helps me get over being sick quite well. you have to find a mom and pops pharmacy not a large chain store, and you have to ask for it and sign a registry book. it is also to the pharmacists discretion. as to whether he will sell it to you or not. the one I've been getting mine from cut me off because I'd gotten like 8 bottles in the last 2 months. shiiiit, I actually need some more. you got a whip? I need some peoples to go in and cop me some haha
