trying not to be a pain in the ass but worried about a package being held at the post office. Is butylene glycol legal to order in the MA. Will I be arrested at the post office? any help would be great

As I understand, GBL is scheduled exactly the same as GHB in the US.
Use a search engine to find appropriate on-line resources. I remember the bill (started with a 41- from memory- sorry I'm from Australia so didn't pay acute attention) being passed a while back.

is it getting mailed to you from outside the country? if so you have nothing to fear, they won't call you down to the post office and arrest you, worst that will happen is you'll get a letter saying the FDA refused your mail.

Let us alone. What pleasure can we have
To war with evil? Is there any peace
In ever climbing up the climbing wave?
All things have rest, and ripen towards the grave
In silence- ripen, fall, and cease:
Give us long rest or death, dark death, or dreamful ease.

1,4 butanediol a.k.a. butylene glycol a.k.a tetramethylene glycol:
is legal in the US on a Federal level and is legal in MA; it is only illegal in a small number of states that have enacted legislation regarding it (e.g. California).
This chemical is NOT the same as GBL or GHB which are Listed and Controlled substances respectively.
You will likely have no problem picking up your package. If you do encounter any problems, then a decent lawyer will make sure your problems cease immediately.

1,4b is legal if you intend to use it as a floor stripper/ printer jets cleaner etc. if it's intended for human compsumption it automatically becomes a controlled substance under the analog act. But without a question you bought it to clean the printer.... so you shouldn't have any problems
