Im 28. I have a felony which will be off my record in 2.5 years. I have a burglary charge. I am 6"3 white good looking, im a hard worker, I have worked my entire life.
Most my life I ran my dads restraunt, I have been a buss boy, waiter, manager.
I have work in retail.
I have been a loan officer (I did very well)
I have repaired computers and built them for a short time.

Im very savvy with computers, I know drugs very well, I am very interested in psychology, reading body signs, drugs and there effects, how the mind works, I love to read, Im good with computers, I can pick up anything fast. I always do good in jobs like watering I get great tips and am well liked, I did good in loans..

I just.. this felony is haunting me. I want to go back to school Im close to my AA, I just don't know what to go for. I really want to work with something relating to psychology, or how the mind works. Something maybe with drugs. I just find it amazing what the brain can do, recover from, create, survive. I don't mind going to school for awhile, I don't mind working for free for awhile, I just want to have a good job that pays well in the end. I will work for it but I want to know im working for something worth while. Any ideas?

Any questions? I mean I need a job now, I need money, but I want ideas on what might be a well paying job in the long run I want a job that interests me. I have a amazing imagination too

Pay should not be the primary motivation, what are you passionate about. You are going to spend 1/3 of your life doing something, you should enjoy it to some extent. Even if it does not make you rich, you should get something out of it. You spoke of many good ideas in your post, you can take those concepts to find fields that interest you. As an example, someone who knows how to work a computer and is interested in psychology may want to work in a field where you get to utilize both - i.e. medicine, motion/sensory equipment development or manufacturing, etc.. Lots of options, find something your passionate about and get it done. The felony thing will haunt you for a while, but if you honest about it and drive toward something by the time you get there it will drop off and you can get serious about your life goals. I know lots of platitudes there, but there is some truth in it all. Best of luck.

Thank you.
I have imagination I just wonder what new fields opened up while I was recovering, like whats cutting edge right now when it comes to computers and the mind. I have basic ideas sure but I mean... Im trying to think very long term, im willing to go to school for as long as it takes but money is a issue. I have to take care of my family my dad is dying.

What did you wanna be when you were a kid? something that was actually realistic, I mean, before you tell me you wanted to be a fairy or a wizard ;)

In all seriousness, were you really on something when you were a child? If you were, then run with that.

THis is the advice I give all people who are suffering from existential angst.

How did you see yourself when you were a child? Where you were going etc...

This criminal record is only hindering you because you are seeing it as a barrier. Sure, there are some things it will stop you doing, but do you really want to do them anyways?

Here is something else for you to ponder -

A man travels to india, and during his travels, he encounters an elephant, with a man who keeps it to sell rides to tourists.

He sees the elephant secured to the ground with only a rope attached to a peg nailed deep into the ground.

He says to the elephant keeper - "are you not scared that the elephant will break the rope? It's massively strong!! WAY stronger than the rope's capacity!!"

The elephant keeper smiles a crafty smile and says "I have had the elephant since he was very very young, and this is how I kept him ever since...he believes he cannot break the rope"

Do you see?

Tending bar can be very lucrative if you get in with the right place. Not unusual to go home with a couple bills in tips a night.
