So, as I understand, all drug use is decriminalized in Portugal and each drug has a set amount you are allowed to have on your person. Although, I hear they take your driver's license if they do catch you in public with something.

I'm really curious what effect this has on the drug using population.

Is it harder or easier to get your DOC since the decriminalization went into effect?
How do police handle dealing with people when they catch them during a transaction?

Or just anything else you might have to add, that I didn't think to ask.

Its decriminalized but its not as good as it sounds. You can still get jail time if your a seller, grower, and traffickers. You cant have a supply of more then ten days and cannabis isnt legal as far as recreational.

From what i read, the drug use increased but their not sure if thats cause people are more open about their drug use then before it was decriminalized or if their are more users. I think where its more important like criminal activity and rates of HIV and other diseases have decreased.

If caught they can still give you community service, fine you, or suggest rehab. I guess they cant force it. There is also other minor things they can do but nothing like prison time.
