I "think" this is in the right place, am I'm hoping it wont be closed because I'm not talking about illegal drugs here, so here goes........

I've tried some legal supplements, like 5 HTP and DL Phenelalanine and Selenium, but have not gotten the "positive" results I wanted. I've also tried organic stuff like Kava and Blue Lotus, but I was worried about the liver problems which could occur with Kava usage.

I'm looking for a mood enhancer at times and then a pick me up at other times, but I quit using ALL illegal drugs over 8 years ago, so thats out........

So, anyone have any positive results from anything legal out there?:\

One supplement that comes to mind is phenibut. You can only use it rarely as tolerance builds, but it can provide some relaxation and help sleeping.

I'm going to move this over to basic drug discussion, I think it will get better responses there.

^ Aye phenibut is full of win..

Don't take it too much though cos the comedown (which will appear 2 - 3 days after use if you have been using for a good few days) / withdrawal isn't fun.

Kava causes absolutely no liver damage if you make sure to use the roots, and not the stems/leaves.
Do a lil more research=D

Also, don't get the premade capsules of kava,
get the pure root powder and make kava kava drinks from them!

I also recommend ginseng as a mood enhancer/energy supplement

Kratom works well, there's a big thread over in OD about it.

5-HTP is useful for fighting the comedown of stimulants and helping out psychedelics and MDMA-like compounds, just be careful. 5-HTP has many contra-indications.

Ginseng and St. John's Wort work well for (some) people, but are certainly worth looking into. Same with Green Tea.

I have had success you just gotta give it time sir especially wiht the 5 htp

I take 5 htp, lots of fishoil and a b vitamin energy supplement like there is a shit ton of b vitamins in it ha andd melatonin fo sleep

All of that shit is just good for overall health and mood regulation and what not

You just have to make sure to stick with it everyday and not skip any doses

Its takin maybe a couple months of regular dosing and my anxiety has decreased ive got peace of mind (well more than before the supplements) better sleeping schedule and overall more energy

If any of these i recommend the fishoil it has endless benefits and many people to not get enough omega 3s with their normal diet

In response to highhooked, I have noticed a reduction in my anxiety levels since I've started using magnesium supplements. They're also great at keeping you regular, which, for somebody who uses opiates, is quite a nice side effect!

To to the OP, highhooked is right, it does take some time for the supplements to do their thing.
