I read around that people run into fake xanax bars all the time.
Are there any xanax pill reports where people got sick off of fakes? What happens if you take a fake xanax pill? Are there any active ingredients in them at all (tainted), or are they just pure pill binders?
Second question - is expired xanax still ok to take? 2 years ago my friend let me have some of his real prescription 1mg xanax when I needed them - they were good. He also mail ordered generic 2mg xanax from India. I know that generics from India have some real quality issues, so we tried them out and they only felt like the strength of 1mg. They were either 1mg mislabeled as 2mg or Indian generics are confirmed to be of very weak quality. We both verified this just by what we 'felt' and we both agreed that Indian alprazolam 2mg was only as good as 1mg US xanax, but they were xanax none the less due to a 'benzo' feeling in them.
Anyway, last week I asked him for whatever old Indian xanax he had leftover, and he still had a small quantity left over. I tasted a pill, and it certainly tasted bitter, like real alprazolam does. So I took a whole round oranage Indian pill, and I certainly felt a xanax benzo effect from it. So I assumed that they were still good.
Whats odd is that the rest of the round orange Indian xanax I took after that day was never the same. I hardly feel any benzo effect from these old Indian pills, yet the first one I took out of the same batch felt alright. All I feel off these are just irregular bumping heart beat, and I certainly feel drowsy and tired, but I don't feel as much of a full blown benzo effect. The irregular heart beating lasts for a day. I just went through 10 2mg white bars (real bars) and I can't remember if I ever felt an irregular heart beat off real xanax bars.
These pills are just round and orange, and have no markings otherwise. I took them 2 years ago with my friend and we both agreed that they were definitely xanax (or some benzo) just much weaker. However they look much older now (color faded and lightened up a little), and I am not sure how an active ingredient changes over time....
Is it bad to take old prescription pills? As far as I know, they were at least stored in the dark. I've taken a combo of old codeine and morphine pills in the past (small amount of each), and I did experience a small opiate buzz from them. So from my experience, old pills still have some kick left in them, but I don't know if that speaks for all prescription drugs such as xanax/alprazolam.
