Anyone experience this problem?

So it's been about 1 week since I last rolled.

I rolled last sunday and just took 100mg of molly (very pure) and it only lasted about an hour. Nothing major.

The time before that was my birthday (end of march) and I took 400mg and was floored (obviously).

Anyway, at very high doses I get the eye wiggles. At low doses (around 150-200mg) I don't get the jacked up eyes.

So I've noticed that ever since I did the 400mg, my eyes will involuntarily wiggle for about 1 second then stop. This usually happens when I focus on something bright like a tv screen or a computer screen. Or when I am reading a book.

This was never a problem before rolling, and I never experienced eye wiggles.

Is this permanent? It's not bothersome, but it's never happened before. Anyone else have this? It's been almost 3 months since I've rolled hard.

Also, when I first got the eye wiggles, I took half a gram of molly. But my eyes didn't wiggle afterwards. It was only after the 400 about three months ago. Did this sort of push it over the edge?

I have no idea man im afraid might be tolerance.

Extremely hard to get my eyes to wiggle on even mephedrone these days with low dosing.

Perhaps with time?

I think the only way to have the experiences you once had your brain has to recover to where it once was in terms of ecstasy i suppose

Honestly, it should go away with time.

Take a couple month break from drugs and such and see if that helps.

I wasn't saying I WANT my eyes to wiggle. I was just saying only at high doses will they wiggle and I noticed that after those high doses my eyes wiggle when I'm sober for about a second. Which never used to be a problem.

A friend says he experienced a similar thing, it just took time for it to go away. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, man :)

Thank you! Just wanted to assure it wasn't permanent.

It has been happening more infrequently, so I guess I just did a number on my poor brain. =/

Nystagmous, or eye wiggles, are a sign of a neurological problem.
This is seen in both MDMA and METH users.

Good news: it will go away.

There are many other possible long-term complications, but nystagmous is NOT one of them. It should stop within a few days.

You should be concerned about other problems, like 'brain zaps' which can be quite debilitating and can last for many months.

More than likely, you won't get those either....just giving you an example.

Stop rolling so much and try to sleep.
Not sleeping will make your symptoms worse right now.
Good luck.

Nystagmus (eye wiggles) is something people get IRL. you may have that, you should definatly see a doctor if it becomes bothersom to you. Ive never heard of this problem lingering after mdma use for so long before, my brothers gf has nystagmus all day everyday and has never done any drug of any kind.

Hey First Bad Comedown -

Thanks for the PM, I can't PM back, but I gotta ask a question so since this thread is somewhat concerned with after effects/toxicity, here goes -

I've read through a ton of your posts regarding toxicity and the symptoms that you say can last for months, but I have not seen anything about muscle/joint pain/stiffness/weakness.

Is this a symptom of MDMA toxicity? In addition to the other symptoms you mention when you talk about toxicity I have been having major pain and stiffness in my joints and muscles for the past couple months after a bad roll. The pain is so debilitating that I can no longer work out - I used to work out at least 4 days a week for at least 2 hours a day.

I am trying to figure out what is going on with my body, but despite all the doc's (5 that I've seen so far) knowledge of my past use, they are all striking out.

Thanks for your help - I truly appreciate it.

During the first night, I had horrific muscle pain all around my ribcage, shoulders, and eventually the legs. Throughout the first month, I continued to have major intestinal cramping and sore muscles around my ribcage. I remember my neck being tight, at odd times.

Eventually most of my bodily symptoms cleared up, but I continued to have sensations all over my face/scalp/neck. These were caused by changes in blood flow to specific regions of the brain.
The intensity and location of these nerve sensations would change every few days/weeks.

I have only felt 3 real 'brain-zaps'....most of it is continuous 'head-pressure' which can sometimes reach a sudden and crippling crescendo.

Not long ago, after cycling off my piracetam and engaging in some 'anger' therapy (which I highly recommend)...the next day I felt a shift in 'head-pressure' that was more than crippling.
I ended up with severe pain and numbness down the radial nerve in my right arm. It extended from my armpit all the way down to the palm of my hand. It hurt like hell.

There is a good chance that I had a minor stroke.
Remember, the brain is be 're-wired' and a highly abnormal blood distribution is being slowly returned to normal. Now that I am past it, I firmly believe this was an event caused by progress. This was a good, but very difficult/risky stage.

I have felt nerve pain in the muscles of my right arm before, just not this bad.
There was a period of about a week when I could feel rapid micro-contractions of a very narrow section of muscle tissue in my bicep. It was like the nerve underneath was making the muscle dance in a way I could barely feel. Until it didn't stop for hours, that is...
It caused that strangest type of deep soreness, but only in the very center of my bicep.

At the same time I was experiencing rapid twitches below my right eye.
They would occur in rapid succession, perhaps 10-30 twitches in a 5 second period of time.
Very strange....and it lasted a week, maybe longer.

It is quite possible that you are simply experiencing these alterations in brain/nerve connections.
As capillaries are being re-routed, some of these nerves temporarily lose blood flow.

I have read a few case studies in which former heavy users that had severe tightness in the jaw and neck muscles. This was LONG after abstinence.

If you are experiencing muscle, joint pain everywhere, then I would suggest it is part of your immune system causing it. The 5-HT system is a major modulator of the immune system, including muscle soreness and body temperature.

If it is more localized, I would be interested to know where you are having this problem.

Regardless of the cause, I recommend working out those muscles, no matter how difficult it may be. Stroke victims are told by doctors to begin physical therapy immediately after a stroke (within a day). They continue this for months.

If this is a nerve/bloodflow issue, you need to exercise the muscles.
If it is an immune dysfunction, exercise couldn't hurt.

Any other crazy symptoms?

I gotta say the worst (besides the anxiety) was the dizziness and now the muscle/joint pain and weakness.

I went through about 2-3 weeks where I felt like I was on a ship swaying at sea. At about week 5 I started getting muscle and joint pain. Some days its like I have arthritis in my knees and hands, some days my calfs, glutes, and hamstrings are super tight, some days it just feels like I got in a fight. I'm super weak all the time. Whereas I could bench around 250 lbs 4 months ago, I now struggle to do 15 pushups. I used to ski all weekend long, now 2 sets of stairs leaves me worn out. No exaggeration. The weird thing is, these symptoms didn't develop until a while after exposure.

Did you experience this type of physical debilitation?

Fortunately, I think I've been spared the "brain zaps." What do you mean by head pressure? Do you mean like in your ears?

Thanks again for your help with this - I really appreciate it.

'Head-pressure' may be in your future. Ringing in the ears used to happen a lot, especially with sudden head rushes.

It is the sensation of blood distribution being disrupted/modified in the brain.
The brain itself does not feel pain, but the nerves on the face/head are tied directly to the brain. Sometimes it tickles, sometimes it fucking hurts like an instantaneous migraine. It feels like something is raping your brain!

You may not get intense head-pressure at all. But if you do...
Increases in regional blood flow have been found in brain scans of former MDMA users. This can last many months and is frequently correlated with reports of anxiety. Continued scans reveal that these increases improve with time, and eventually blood distribution returns to normal.

The best question for you is how long has it been?

If you are still in the first two months, that might explain the extreme bodily stress.
In the early stages of recovery, more receptor sites are 'forced' open than in any other stage of recovery.

Right now, your endocrine system is out of control.
Cortisol, the stress hormone, plays an important role in the recovery process.
Unfortunately, it also causes the break-down of muscle tissue.

The extreme soreness, other than in my gut, was gone by the second month.
But I continued to feel strange 'body sagging' sensations.
After a period of stress/cortisol I would often feel a wave of muscle relaxation.
This is likely a release of prolactin.

During MDMA use, the endocrine system provides a powerful release of cortisol, followed by prolactin. It seems that a similar process is occurring in a never-ending cycle during recovery.

This is my best guess of what is causing your soreness - cortisol/prolactin.
There is not much you can do but eat as healthy as you can, and wait.

I suggest a high protein, low carb diet.
Any form of carbs is going to increase serotonin in the brain, not something you want right now.

If you can, try a liquid protein smoothie diet for a few days.
See if that makes a difference in how your body feels.

By influencing the contents of your intestines, you should be able to influence your symptoms. But it won't control them.

Exercise needs to be resumed, now.
Don't think about the pain.
And don't think about the two hour standard you set before.
By focusing on the impossibility of really lifting weights, you might prevent yourself from exercising at all.

That is the worst thing you could do.
I worked out daily for a solid year before my MDMA meltdown.
Then for six weeks, I barely ate food, much less exercised.
When I first started making my body function again, I felt like a 90 year old man!
I don't remember so much soreness, more like weakness. There was joint pain, now that I think of it...

I firmly believe that the intensity of the first month released so much cortisol that my body started eating my muscle. Starvation and not moving around much, also contributed.

So I set my sights low.
Instead of free weights, I used my bowflex.
Ten minutes or less, and I was done.
By the end, I couldn't believe I managed to do it without having a stroke.

But after doing it the next day as well, I felt a nice rush of energy and relief from it. Day three and four showed me that the benefits accrue with repetition. I mean in a profound emotional way, not just physical.

After a few weeks, I was doing a solid 20 minutes per day.
Then, at three months, I was doing my old 45 minutes on free weights.
After month 4 I returned to the bowflex and added pilates.

Now, simply due to dedication and repetition, I am more fit and defined than I have ever been. And for almost six months, I have used exercise to cope with an otherwise impossible condition. Nothing I can suggest will make your body/mind feel better than exercising again.

Its all about starting up, no matter how small.
Just remember to repeat, daily.

Ya the after effects of mdma are somewhat strange and scary, when I was taking it heavily 4 - 5 yrs ago, I used to twitch so hard I would wake myself outta sleep. Also my left eye would twitch when I got nervous for about 2 weeks. I remember talking to a Dean for a college I was thinking of attending and my eye would twitch and increase in intensity depending on how long my statement was....yeah fucking annoying.
