I came across a book a few weeks ago caled "A million little pieces" by james Frey - have any of you ever read it?

I recommend it to anyone and everyone, it was absolutely fabulous. A little heart-breaking as well though a great insight into the life of one 23 year old "addict" who was addicted to everything from glue to crack.

If anyone here has read it I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on it.

Yes great book, I have recomended it before ...

I loved every page of it, it portray's the rehab facilities at Hazledon (sp?) up in Minnesota to a tee. I stayed for a stay many moons ago. Great book for somebody that is entering rehab to read or to read in general.

i loved a million little pieces. james frey's writing style is raw and youd be fucking amazed at what he's been through. (true story) i definitely recommend it to anyone who has done a variety of drugs or has had an addiction.

just read it.....got a big shit eating grin on my face when he says something like this, "i threw the bible and the big book in the trash. if i would have had the energy, i would have put the books in the toilet and shit on them". or something like that......:)

Agreed great book.

Anyone read "My Friend Lenoard" yet? I think it's been out for a while.

Hahahahahahahaha......HE called bullshit?

Looks like its his turn to get bullshit called on him...

I liked his existentialist writing style, it was succint and to the point.

brevity is the soul of wit ;)

So.. he embellised a bit eh? I'm surprised how big this news story is. Saw him on Larry King.

his writing style annoyed me so mmuch not cuz of the "grammar" problems that the reviews and shit talked about, i dont give a shit, you could missspell shit all over your book and i wouldnt care

he just wrote like every thought that came to mind was important and instead of describing something he just repeated it
You could say
"the fuckin pain went thru my mouth liek someone just blasted a .357 point-blank thru my jawbone"
He says
"it hurt. it hurt so bad i wanted to die. it hurt. it hurt. it hurt. pain. more pain. so much pain that i felt there could be no more pain. pain pain pain."
oh wait, my bad, Pain.

i got a big sense of self-interested "look at me yea im badass but im pretending i dont care if you think im badass" just from his style

He shouldve said this was a work of "fiction" so he wouldnt get slack, even if it was autobiographical. I mean look at Luke Davies and Candy. Now THATS a fucking powerful story, and he labeled it Fiction so he wouldnt get crap for telling the truth....and anybody who has read this will agree with me.
