anyone abuse anesthetics?

i had surgery a few years back and thats the stuff they give that puts you out. its white, looks like milk... i kinda remmeber the feeling as like taking a huge hit of n2o and holding it in as long as possible...

really light headed and fuzzy, if that makes any sense..i dont think it was all too euphoric or anything, but it did feel pretty cool. of course once they gave me the rest of it i was totally out....it still freaks me out to this day..couting back from 10 and then waking up in pain with IV"s and monitors hooked up.

i scared about ever having to have surgery again, my opiate tolerance is so high i dont think they would dose me with enough. i only weigh about 160lbs and i think that size and weight play into the dose big time...

there was a thread about surgery and tolerance somewhere around here but it wasnt getting much attention...

as for abusing anesthetics, the ones i have tried illicitly are flurothane, halothane, N2O, PCP and ketamine...tried the gasses at the vets where my friend used to work. the gas tastes really strong and fucked me up bad, i didnt like it too much. one kid passed out and smacked his head on a metal cart....the shit knocked him out like it was nothing haha

K is really fun too, its an interesting feeling, its kinda opiate like for a little, and has some mild visual action...pcp was just crazy, i was smoking a joint with this kid and his dad, his dad passes me the j and as im hitting it, his son is like "dad where did you get weed" and his dad laughs and says, who said its weed hahaha...right as im taking a huge hit. it tasted like burnt cardboard or something. it was just dried parsley that had been sprayed, it fucked me up tho, felt like K but a lot stronger and more upped...made me trip out a lot too...

i dont know how many medical professionals would abuse something like K tho, i know threre was a story not too lolng ago about the same thing, but i dont think thats too common. it would be rela low dose to get good effects without getting too fucked up.

what are other anesthetics ppl abuse? cause that could be a few different classes of drugs, obviou8sly cases of fent abuse are pretty high in hospitals. my aunt used to work with a guy who was taking amps of fent for personal use...

well i used to the word abuse in the sense the hospital would, any non medical use.
 
it all depends on whether you take the view that using drugs illegally is abusing them, which obviously is beyond the scope of this thread. but i see what you're saying. in other words, if it was legal to get high on those drugs, most people wouldn't consider your usage anywhere near excessive.
 
was watching orange county choppers the other day...the dad got an operation on his lower back....some surgery to insert some liquid....dont know what tht was..anyway, he too was given propofol for surgery...he said it "took him back to the 70's" or 60's or something like tht right before he drifted off to sleep....when he woke up, he too asked if he could take some home back with him...funny how the story sounds so familiar... anyway -- alpha chloralose --- thts used for animals rite?? birds if im not mistaken...wat else do the specialists use to induce anaesthesia ?

yes, Alpha Chloralose is used only as a bird poison today, but it used to be used as an anesthetic

Alpha-chloralose was used as an anesthesic, then it was used as an hypnotic in lower doses.
Now it's used to kill rodents/rats, etc....

So you can buy it in pure form at garden stores where I live (France).

I've tried it many times.
It's not fun.
Either you take an anesthesic dosage (~1200mg), and then you have 10 minutes of fun, you can't walk straight, you feel some euphoria, and after these minutes you fall into anesthesia...

With smaller doses (300mg), it can put you to sleep, but during half an hour before falling asleep, you have some vertigo, and a very annoying double vision...

For me, its only use is as a suicide drug...

IV Dormicum, and IV barbiturates like sodium thiopenthal. They knock you out flat in seconds, and once you're unconscious you'll get a breathing mask with carefully mixed anaesthetic gas/oxygen, like isoflurane, to keep you under during surgery.
