I have to figure out this word problem:

Place 10 stools along 4 walls of a room so that each of the four walls has the same number of stools.

The way I'm reading this problem is that I need to somehow divide 10 by 4 without using decimals or remainders. I don't know I'm bad at math!

I'd really appreciate it if somebody helped me out though. :)

Draw it out and see if that helps you. I find a lot of math problems are easier to understand when visualized. Also, can we assume the 4 walls are joint to form an enclosed room? If so, are you allowed to place them in the corners so the stools are in theory, along 2 walls at once?

2 on each side to make 8 stools on the walls... and 1 each on opposite corners. So technically you have 1 stool touching 2 walls.
