Any suboxone users ever have a colonoscopy?

So I'm scheduled to have a colonoscopy friday and the way in which they administer anesthesia is scaring me... I figured I'd just be inhaling it with the face mask thing to pass out but they hook you up to an IV and pump stuff into you to knock you out... besides the fact that I cannot stand needles and the last time I had an IV in me I was on the verge of passing out... I was just wondering if anyone who is prescribed suboxone has ever had a colonoscopy and had the sedative administer d intravenously..... also I snort my suboxone, could this effect it at all? >.<

I've had one. They wont use an opioid to knock you out. Most likey Propofol. Which works on the GABA system.

Yea I figured whatever they give me to put me into a "twilight sleep" as they call it wont be an opioid and wont interact with the suboxone... I guess my main question is will snorting instead of eating my suboxone and not telling them have any effect

You say you've had one before, what meds were you on? Were you on suboxone specifically? I'm just fucking weirded out with this whole intravenous twilight sleep crap... they say I'll be able to respond and carry out commands but I wont remember the procedure? It all just sounds unpleasant

I was on suboxone and various other opiates. I was knocked out. I got in position and they hit the IV. I giggled and that was the last I remember, I "wake up" 45min later and I'm on my way.

Thanks that helps a lot... when I asked if the anesthesia would conflict with the suboxone the best answer I got was "Weeelllllllll, it shouldnt.... probably not". And when being interviewed today by the nurse she's asking me shit like "Do you have a living will in place", "Are you an organ donor" and im thinking jeez maybe I should make up a will real quick, and do I really want my organs to be cut out if I die from this shit?

LOL.

No, make sure that you tell them you are on Suboxone, there is no reason not to. What happens if you are administered an opioid and you rely on it? You won't be able to feel the effects and be real uncomfortable because you don't have relief. Most likely they won't use an opioid but still tell them, why not? Snorting it or taking it orally makes no difference in how they treat you.

I told them im prescribed suboxone, and that I'm prescribed 1/4 of an 8mg pill every other day.... but i'm actually snorting a little bit daily... Im just not telling them that I snort it rather than eat it
