What is the WEF?

If you look at my 1st post many of the items are applicable, including for chronic use sans dependency/tolerance. I call these sustainable therapeutic mixes since you rely on the synergy of 2+ substances to ensure sustainability. Also THC isn't necessary for the classic high effect imo.if you’re looking to get high before bed, there’s not really any “reasonable” substitutes that you can safely take on a nightly basis. at least not without some risk of dependence or tolerance.
See the items mentioned in my 1st post. To elaborate on terpenes, each has it's unique psychoactive profile. Plant terpenes are very common & inexpensive. They are active standalone, cannabinoids aren't necessary. In fact a few of these terpenes have cannabinoid qualities (and dopaminergic, GABAergic, serotonergic, opioidergic...)....there’s not really any weed adjacent substances that are safe to use regularly, readily available, and won’t pop a piss test.
however if you do find such a unicorn, i’d love to know
kava is a decent herbal anxiolytic that won’t pop on a piss test. i put some in my nightly cup of sleepytime chamomile, passionflower, and valerian root tea and it’s real relaxing before bed. the kava gives a bit of a tipsy feeling. nothing too crazy. i know you said you tried blue lotus, i’ve definitely enjoyed that with my tea and was very relaxed. it’s definitely not super strong tho.
if you’re looking to get high before bed, there’s not really any “reasonable” substitutes that you can safely take on a nightly basis. at least not without some risk of dependence or tolerance. if you’re looking to relax, all those weak herbs tend to be a lot stronger together. blue lotus, damiana, kava, valerian root, passionflower. don’t do much on their own but when combined have much more effect.
outside of RC cannabinoids of questionable safety there’s not really any weed adjacent substances that are safe to use regularly, readily available, and won’t pop a piss test.

unfortunately d8 does pop on a piss test. all the smoke shop cannabinoid variants (D8, D10, THC-A, THC-P, HHC, ETI would suggest CBD, CBN, or maybe delta 8 THC if it doesn’t test positive, though I’ve never found weed to help much with sleep. Valerian root and l-tetrahydropalmatine are more helpful. Suicide is not a good sleep aid.
I guess I am looking for a high at night rather than simple relaxation.
I would suggest CBD, CBN
Just wanted to chime in and say that dagga absolutely does work, and resembles a super empty headed, cloudy, fogged up, sleepy version of cannabis imo.
Lactuca sativa L. Extract Enhances Sleep Duration Through Upregulation of Adenosine A1 Receptor and GABA(A) Receptors Subunits
Fascinating, I appreciate the paper you linked! It's via an adenosinergic MOA iirc. Likewise with Wild lettuce (Lactuca virosa).
I know 150mg of pregab isn't that much, but I suspect with that frequency you will build up tolerance to it over time and will either need to increase dose or better take regular tolerance breaks - not sure how often but maybe something like 3 weeks on and 1 week off.Thank you for all of your suggestions. I will now try each one, and see if one of them comes close to weed at night. I have also come up with an alcohol substitute, which could I think substitute for weed as well. It consists of 2 beers, 1.2 mg of scopolamine, and 150 mg of pregabalin. It can't be used every night, as you get a tolerance for the scopolamine as well as maybe the pregabalin, so I'm using it every third night.
Benadryl, magnesium and melatonin over the counter will help.I have been smoking weed for years as a way of keeping off alcohol at night and it has worked, but now I have been diagnosed with ADHD and the psychiatrist provider I have been referred to insists on their clients not using pot while being prescribed stimulants. They advise you to get off weed for 4 weeks before the appointment, as they urine-test you to make sure you're not using it. I'd like to know if there are any realistic alternatives to cannabis at night? I don't smoke a lot, so don't need something ultra-strong, just something psychoactive in a relaxing way - but not alcohol. I can't use benzos or z-drugs as I had tolerance and withdrawal problems with those when I was using them every night for sleep, and GHB is hard to obtain where I live. Are there ANY herbs that are strong enough to resemble weed? I once tried damiana but found it so weak that it had no effect on me, even when I used large amounts of a strong extract. I tried blue lotus flower but also found it weak. I have heard of wild dagga and klip dagga being used as smoking alternatives but I have already spent too much on herbs to keep trying different ones. Maybe there is a herbal combination that could work? It's ok if it's in the form of an alcoholic extract, as the amount of alcohol consumed would be small, and small amounts don't trigger me to drink large amounts. Any thoughts?
