any piracetam users out there?

yeah, I remember reading something like that before, and when I tried both together I felt kinda strange.

I find aniracetam to be more pleasing, and it actually tastes good, same for alpha-gpc :)

The guys at www.imminst.org , nootropics forums, are knowledge beasts on the subject, feel free to go look for good knowledge

Love It

Hi All,

I've been taking Piracetam daily for about 6 months.

The first few times I took the 'attack' dose of >3000mg I felt completely lucid, clear and just totally sound. I got absorbed in books from which my attention would have usually waned.. it helped a lot with creativity and assertiveness and verbal expression.

I'm usually quiet and get a bit self-conscious, even at unnecessary times, like say ordering a drink in a cafe. I also go from being dead hyper and happy, to uselessly dead and foggy-minded. Apart from that, I'm young(ish) and of a positive mindset, and so I just felt that there must be something I could supplement with to balance me out a bit.

So I cultivated an interest in the mind and started experimenting with different drugs, herbs and supplements and stuff. Of all of them, Piracetam has helped me the most, and is the only one I'm really keen to continue.

I study as many internet resources on it as I can find, and listen to all different experiences, and don't doubt that many find it useless. I've overdone it a few times and felt sleepy, I've had the 'fast' effect and the 'slow' effect from it. But for me now, a maintainance dose of around 800mg per day is great, bar a few jitters, and I feel a lot sharper.

It puts a very 'real' spin on life.. you feel as if you can see a reality that you've not been easy enough to notice before. It's like taking the blurry lens cap off and things shift better into perspective. I'm not saying that everyone will feel the same.. some people are naturally lucid and sharp, but the subtle shift it's given me has been really positive. Sometimes when you see people out and about that look half dead, with vacant glazed eyes.. I reckon that they could use a bit. (I probably looked like that for years to be honest)

It doesn't feel too great with regular alcohol consumption, but you can get away with the odd one or two.

I've tried combining it with Hydergine, Pramiracetam, Selegiline, Vasopressin, and I've tried all of those on their own. In brief, Hydergine was ok, Pram was way too strong, Selegiline was cool but I enjoyed it better on its own, and Vasopressin would be great if not for the mad water-retention.

Taking Piracetam with Lecithin 1200mg capsules is a wonder-combo, better than the standard 'Choline Bitartrate'.

Regarding intelligence/mind-boosting, I read somewhere that 'you're the same idiot, only faster.' This cracked me up and is true, I haven't been coming up with astounding works of genius or anything, but I can study for longer and concentrate better, and am more consistent, so I reckon I'm acting 'more intelligent'.

Sorry for the long post. Hope you find of some interest!

i have a question about tolerance and piracetam...
do you get tolerance with it? do you have to increase your dose at all to get the same affects?

The immediate effects appear to decline with regular use, but the "slow" effect requires up to 3 weeks of regular use to take effect. Many people have been using it for months with no diminution of effect. The mechanism of action is not fully understood...

Ive been tempted to try it but the whole "you gotta take this or that with it" has confused me. I dont really understand it..plus the whole alcohol consumption thing worries me since I drink regularly. It does seem interesting though.

Granted you don't 'have' to take anything else with it, as you will see some results if you take it on its own. Taking the other things just can make the effects more pronounced, or help to potentiate it a bit.

As far as Choline goes, the daily vitamin/mineral/herb pack that I take has Choline in it. I take Beyond Chelation Improved, 9 tabs a day, 30 packets in the jar. Costs around $40-50 a month. You can Google the name to find it. I myself also take an additional Vitamin C tab during the day, as the amount of Vitamin C in it isn't near what my dose was before I started taking it. So that takes care of the choline.

Hydergine is an extra tab that you would have to buy from wherever you get the piracetam from. I took it for a few months, but really didn't see it doing too much. So I stopped taking it.

The best that you can do is just read as much as you can about it. Check out places like Life Extension Foundation, as they have good literature there on it.

I was great on it for almost half a year, but when I added a SNRI to my SSRI, it started giving me migraines/making me feel lethargic.

I also read that it increases brain damage if you drink while on it (erowid FAQ), although some say this is not the case.

So I quit. :(

You need at least 1g of choline a day with piracetam, 1.5-2g is even better.

Without choline, effects of Piracetam is greatly reduced, and might even be negative (headaches etc).

Just buy some Lecithin, or some alpha-gpc if you have more money.

should you take 1-2g of choline in the morning, or space it out over the day?

how much choline do you need for aniracetam as opposed to piracetam?
