I've been injecting dilaudid several times a day for nearly a year now and had a very bizarre experience a few days ago...
Before I inject in the morning, I run warm (just south of being actually hot) water over my arm for a minute or two to help bring the veins to the surface.
Well the other day, even though the water was def only warm, it made my arm feel like it was scalding hot! The area where the water made contact with my skin felt burning hot... I lowered the temp of the water to barely lukewarm and it STILL gave me a burning sensation!
It was the weirdest thing. Clearly it was in my imagination, so I forced myself to keep my arm under the tap, refusing to give in to imaginary pain. In a few mins it went away, but nothing like that has ever happened to me before.
I'm not even positive it had anything to do with my drug use, but it's certainly possible.
Anyone else ever have a similar experience?
