I've been on Midazolam for almost 18 yrs. I have insomnia and getting sleep is very hard for me without the any sleeping aid. Then i began to abuse it after a few months of use... then a few friends recommended me marujuana but it gave me such a bad headache, hangover...so i didn't continue to smoke it. Later a doctor prescribed me Erimin 5 (happy pill) , it was great but i need at least a five tablets to get me to sleep. Spent all my savings on them and when i was dead broke, i decided to quit ...the cold turkey way cuz i lost my job, friends and close family ties. They all think that i'm a hardcore drug addict . Being said, i suffered cold turkey on my own(not knowing the dangers of benzo withdrawal at that time)for the first month...seizures, fits..really bad shit. Almost killed myself. Finally go thru it but after about 18 yrs later(now) , i still crave for it.
I've tried Mogodon,Nitrazepam,Diazepam,Subutex, and many others which i cannot even remember. Main question is : Are there any of you out there who actually quit it ? I'd be glad to know how you come clean completely. Many thanks in advance.

You have used midazolam for 18 years?!?!
What dosages were you on for sleep at maximum?!

Myself I have only used it occationally the last 6 months

I did quit a midazolam habit about a year ago. I used to inject them intravenously 75-100 mg a day for a year. I used other benzos as well. I have only very hazy memories of that year.

I can tell it was hell, going cold turkey. The first week I couldn't even drink water without throwing up almost instantly. But it's worth it in the long end and it is possible. You should consider consulting a doctor, who can prescribe you some non-benzo anticonvulsants, and something to help you sleep.

I used amitriptyline to sleep during the WD.

SWIM would love some midazolam - the only truly water soluble benzo 8)

SWIM's been on benzos for over 8 years and has tried to stop cold turkey a few times. For the first 3-7 days you think you're doing ok, and then the real problems start...

The only realistic way to get off them is to get yourself a good dr who'll develop a plan with you to gradually reduce your dosage over around a year. If you're seeing multiple doctors or buying on the black market, you really need to stick to a single doctor who understands your addiction. Having a psychologist helps too (especially if you can be hypnotized).

Good luck:)

Why? They're the worst, in terms of addiction. You probably want to IV them? Even worse.
Trust me they're worse than xanax. Actually I've never had more horrible WD:s from any other substance, than the WD:s after IV midazolam use.
