Any Genesis Fans....what are your favorite albums?

Actually, I was pissed how the early box jumps ship just before the Trick of a Tail! I love that album. But, I think it sounds great in the 94 remaster.

Amazon has these very cheap to, jus tso you guys know. I am getting the first set next week!
Thanks for the tip

^^^I love Foxtrot.....Can-utility... is one of my all time favs.

Yeah beenhead you are right about that.....even though Phil is on lead vocals on Trick of the Tail it is still a great album. I have a CD/DVD version of it with alot of great extras. Sounds like it was recorded yesterday!!

I have that version. I have yet to look at the extras on the DVD. I have been meaning to though!

I never got into Gabriels solo work at all. It sounds nothing like Genesis and is usually way too vocal. And it has no resemblence to the wonderful Symphonic Music he created.

Steve Hackett though, I cannot stress enough, makes some great symphonic Prog that any Genesis fan should check out.

Hackett had a great run of solo albums for a while - Acolyte through Defector are all great albums (I'm particularly fond of Spectral Mornings). And then the crap started happening. :( Cured is an utterly awful album (with an awful cover picture to boot), and Till We Have Faces isn't nearly as good as it could have been (as much as I love Hackett, he really shouldn't try to sing). And don't get me started on the GTR project.

Thankfully, he didn't lose his mojo, it just moved over to his classical/acoustic albums. Bay of Kings and Momentum are both excellent works.

My absolute favourite band, nothing else has ever quite given me the same tingle factor. My very favourite stuff is Tresass era and the demos surrounding it, I love that pastoral sound. The only Gabriel album I'm not that mad on is Foxtrot, still great but I prefer the low key, hippyish musings on the others. The Lamb is of course another matter. Dazzling, fascinating, electrifying.

I basically just love everything they ever did.

^^I loved everything until I heard the snowman song on "And then there were 3"...while it is catchy, it is sad to me that the same group that made Selling England and Foxtrot could turn out to be hit makers.
