I'm sick of being on my Zoloft. It worked great for the 3 years I have been taking it but I want my sensations back. Every time I don't take my dose for a couple days I start getting back all this wonderful emotion back. It is great until withdrawal kicks in. It is so bad that I just have to give in every time and re dose. I no longer have insurance and can not afford to ever go see the doctor for help any more so I am on my own. I assume that the only way is to tamper off, am I correct?

Yes, the only way to safely come off of an anti-depressant is to taper off.
Consider calling your dr..and explaining your situation..they may be willing to help
w/o an office visit...
Dr's know that w/d from anti-depressants is horrible..
they might be willing to work w/you.

Good luck.

You would think so, unfortunately my doctor is a useless twat. The first time I experienced withdrawal from zoloft she looked me dead the face as I explained my symptoms and said to me "well actually zoloft does not cause people to withdraw so it's okay". I didn't even know what to say so I just nodded. So yea, can't imagine she'll be much help.

Yeah, well..I can't imagine she's a real doctor.

The ER's another consideration...letting them know what's
up w/your fake doctor...
and that your in for AD w/d.
they may be willing to write a script..enough to taper, anyway..

Otherwise..5-htp and vitamin b1.. Thiamine...worth a search...

there's lots more here on BL..search "anti depressant withdrawal"

Good luck.
