Does anyone highly experienced in benzos have experience taking oxazepam or temazepam? These are active metabolites of diazepam but also pharmaceutical drugs in and of themselves.

I notice that there seems to be more anxiolysis the day after taking diazepam than the actual peak of diazepam itself. However the muscle relaxant properties are most evident during the peak of diazepam right after dosing.

I’m wondering if anyone else feels that temazepam, oxazepam, or the day after diazepam brings more anxiolytic effect than diazepam per se.

I have been on almost every prescribed benzo there is and with all my years of exp or usage I can tell you now that oxazepam will be very disappointing I got rebound anxiety instantly changing to it for a while. Was not great at keeping anxiety at bay and had no muscle relaxation properties

As for temazepam. Used as for its hypnotic purposes and mostly prescribed for short term treatment for insomnia, it works great and is my favorite night benzo and also for found it to have muscle relaxation properties too.

And diazepam when used constantly and religious will knock any benzo out the water for anxiolytic effects and as you mentioned also good muscle relaxation properties.

Hope that helped

I don’t take diazepam for anxiolytic effects, but it really doesn’t compare to either to temazepam or oxazepam ime. Both are very underwhelming benzos (especially oxazepam) that are really only useful for sleep. No notable muscle relaxation for me on either. While diazepam definitely does help with anxiety I find lorazepam is by far the most effective for that. That said, I’m always on diazepam (10mg taken once at night) for the muscle relaxant effects and only very rarely taking lorazepam when in a high stress situation. The one time I tried diazepam alone for anxiety, I don’t recall it being as effective.
