**Moved for from Other Drugs just wondering how you guys would deal with this

I had anxiety since my grandmother and grandfather died about 3 years ago both died from cancer , Ive been learning to cope. but over this last years Ive been going through alot of stuff. Surgery , rehablitation, Might be a need for a second surgery. I don't know how to classifiy it what types are there? I tried weed,And I have therapy sheduled.. is if I am going down with this. And I got ADD and ADHD, and A fear of needles which Isn't helping with the medical stuff (MRI's for contrast and Bloodwork),

I have a fear of needles and ADD as well. I understand how your fear can interfere with medical procedures. I personally felt the contrast part was easier than the MRI itself. I nearly had a panic attack and had to take a couple timeouts. You are doing the right thing by seeking therapy. Do you feel it is anxiety that you are experiencing in regards to the death of your grandparents, or could it be more like depression? You can have symptoms like perseverating and avoidance from depression as well. I ask bc you used the phrase "I am going down with this". It sounds like you are in a place similar to where Ive been and I can be a good listener if you want to talk. This is a great place for support and maybe even answers to any questions or concerns you have. Feel free to send me a msg if you need a friend. <3

I'm sorry :( Follow thru with the therapy. Talking to someone can be incredibly helpful, but if you feel you need medication, I'd see a Psychiatrist rather than seeing a counselor and using a PCP for prescriptions.

Your suggestion is fine (though redundancy between your post and report you made is unnecessary).
I think that this isn't an ideal fit for TDS, but it's not TOO far off, and the thread sure as hell doesn't belong in PandS.

My apologies to the TDS staff in advanced if this next move is misguided.

It's a perfect fit for TDS. Thanks, all.

OP, were you living with your grandparents? Do you think your anxiety is related to dying, cancer, being left without them being in the world, or was the timing of your anxiety just coinciding with the trauma of losing your grandparents? I think it would help people replying if you explain a little more about your anxiety.

Weed can sometimes contribute to anxiety and sometimes lessen it, so it might be a good idea to cut it out completely for a while to see if that helps you or makes things worse. Hopefully therapy will be a supportive place to delve into the focus of your anxiety and give you tools to manage it. Ask the therapist about Mindfulness techniques and CBT.

It sounds like you have been through a lot physically with surgery and rehab and all the tests. This alone could be throwing you off kilter. Mind and body are connected more than we realize sometimes. <3
